Clarification

We recently heard that a rumor is floating around that we charge for the articles we publish. This is absolute rubbish. We neither solicit or accept payment for articles. Additionally, we do not require that manufacturers provide us with product for free or even at a discount in order for us to publish an article. We know some sites do this, but this is not the case for us.

Having said that, we do have sponsors and we highly encourage you to support them.

As someone who is not a sponsor and has been lucky enough to be reported on this site numerous times, I can totally vouch for the owner/admin of Soldier Systems and the above statement.

  2. Mac says:

That’s very rich considering the number of small gear makers who can hardly afford food let alone advertising and have had a plug on this site.

  3. Steve Glaser says:

I can agree with both Jon and Mac. Have had a similar experience with this site.

Whoever has spread that rumor has an agenda and some malice aforethought.

Spreading lies and rumors intentionally is not nice and will come back to bite ones self in the ass.

I was not aware that Soldier Systems allowed for comments.

My business having benefitted from numerous mentions on Soldier Systems, I feel uniquely positioned to comment on this matter.

I check on Soldier Systems several times over the course of a typical day. The quality of the content makes it addictive and compulsory. Cost prohibits me from advertising, though it is something I aspire to. That means every single mention of Down Range Gear on Soldier Systems has been at the pleasure of the editor with no other compulsion or compensation for the coverage. To have a Soldier Systems post highlight your work is invaluable, driving traffic and business that potential customers reference and follow up on long after the date of publication.

I only wish he would accept payment for articles…
