BCS – BALCS LVR in Kryptek Highlander and Mandrake

Beez Combat Systems has introduced a new BALCS LVR (Low Vis Rig) System. At the same time they have added Kryptek Highlander and Mandrake not just to this vest but to their entire product line.

The BALCS LVR is a low profile scalable body armor system built around the popular and readily available BALCS cut body armor. The BALCS LVR supports both front and back soft and hard armor. The hard plate pockets will support SAPI, Swimmers/Shooter, or Rectangle cut hard armor.

Interchangeable load carriage pieces are available. In addition to the Kryptek patterns the BALCS LVR is also offered in MultiCam, A-TACS AU, A-TACS FG, Woodland, Coyote, Khaki, Ranger Green, OD and Black.

They could have at least come up with a new name instead of ripping off the idea and name from Rogue Gunfighter. They say imitation is the highest form of flattery but this is pretty sad.

This Beez system has been around for years….

      • ODG says:

Not in that configuration, I’m inclined to agree with Dave looks like another parasitic product to me. SSD can you can confirm?

        • SSD says:

This is a new vest but BCS has been manufacturing BALCS compatible vests for several years. The naming convention for this vest is most unfortunate. As for the designs of the vests themselves, as with most armor carriers, there are several similarities and several differences.

          • Dave says:

SSD, that’s a good point but I think the biggest slap in the face is the name. If you can’t design a vest to stand out on its own enough than at least be original with the name.

      • Dave says:

Chuck, if its been around for years why are they just now introducing it on SSD as the post above indicates?

and it looks WAY more like a Mayflower LPAC in BALCS than RG LVR. It doesn’t have half the pockets, radio guides, and the cummerbund doesn’t have the internal mag pouches.

It looks like a great low vis balcs carrier that doesn’t require a proprietary set of armor like the RG one and offers more coverage than the mayflower with it’s concealment cut armor.

    • Dave says:

Todd, the LVR will fit any hard plates. Are you referring to the soft armor package?

      • Ex-St. Paul Resident says:

@Dave – I believe he’s referring to the soft armor package.

  3. John says:

Cool blatant rip off of the Rogue Gunfighter LVR bro…..you couldn’t even change the name?????

  4. James says:

I agree, looks like a cheap knockoff of the Rogue Gunfighter LVR. Just my opinion..

We have been building body armor carriers for years. We build custom carrier for guys that have custom cut body armor as well. Over the years multiple clients have requested 4″ elastic waist and ways to connect different chest rigs from multiple manufactures.

It was time to update our BALCS product line of carriers which consists of the BALCS LBAV, BALCS Molle, BALCS Cumber and now the BALCS LVR system. The BALCS LVR carrier has been in the works for months.

BALCS cut body armor is very popular and now you have a scalable, low cost, low vis rig, that is available in multiple colors.

    • Dave says:

I wonder if that’s a coincidence then that the LVR from Rogue was released months ago and your version has been in the works for months. I guess all the other names referring to low vis operations were taken then? Sorry guys but in this industry to stand out you need to be original. You have some great stuff but this one gets an “F” for uniqueness and originality.

  6. Beez says:

The RG rig is a super rig and far more complex than our rig. We took our BALCS carrier, added 4 inch removable elastic waste. and attached vertical webbing for buckles so a chest rig could be added. We modified our chest rigs to fit our BALCS carrier.

Do a search on Low Vis Rig. Multiple companies use Low Vis Rig

  7. Jesse says:

You guys need to do your research before spouting off. How about compare the designs and do a google for Low Vis Rig. Are people supposed to trademark acronyms now? Perhaps you can judge the equipment by its merits rather than superfluous blather.

ROGUE GUNFIGHTER link below. Make your own comparisons, kids.

    Here it is:

I personally like the Rogue LVR. The newest one was on display at the LCI booth during SHOT and I can appreciate the differences. I think it’s worse that “Beez” is defending himself by saying he’s not the only un-original business in the industry. “Status quo…bro.” I support Rogue, and its one of the only groups that I follow on Facebook. (Has anyone seen their classic Chevy Chevelle? Its normally surrounded by hotties and models… that’s my kind of Low Vis.)

If you need a Low Vis Rig for your BALCS cut body armor.
