Magpul Enters Dedicated 2-Point Sling Market With MS1

The new MS1 Sling from Magpul is a dedicated 2-Point model that can also be used as a Single Point Sling through the use of adapters.

It’s built around their MS1 slider to provide rapid adjustments to either lengthen or shorten the sling with no slipping once set, and no tails, loops, or other potential snag hazards. The MS1 system also has a series of adapters that are sold separately and based on the MS3 and MS4 slings. By adding the appropriate adapter (available in Paraclip or QD) for the sling, you can easily add one-point functionality to your MS1.

They’ve been perfecting the design for some time now and had this to say about development –

In testing, the sling had to survive tens of thousands of cycles in wet, dry and sandy conditions, static load testing without slippage for 72 hours and weighted 6 foot dynamic drop tests. In addition to the controlled lab tests, we also swam it, jumped it, hunted with it, hiked into the mountains with it, and most importantly shot with it in a variety of rugged field conditions

Cool, I’d like to see comparisons made with other 2 point slings like BFG, Viking Tactics, etc in the coming weeks/months.

Any idea on who will be carrying these and when?

I have the MS3 and recently changed my guard to Fortis Rev, would like to add a QD on it.

Is the MS1™ MS3-QD™ Adapter my solution?

    thanks

Brownells has them live right now. DSG, Midway, et. al., to follow shortly.

If you like the MS3, the easiest, but not cleanest, way is to place one of the small ring QDs in on the forend and clip the MS3 into it. We are also coming out with an attachment that converts QD sockets to take the Paraclip.

The MS1 doesn’t have the connectors sewn in, so it’s easier to swap back and forth between hardware, which is one of the things we wanted to have with this new system as a departure from the old.

If you like the MS3 functionality, but want to have the advantages of the new slider, you can cut the adapter portion and front end paraclip from an existing MS3 and put them on an MS1 to have the equivalent of what we will be releasing as the Gen 2 MS3.

thank you for your suggestion. just having difficulty, visualizing the last paragraph:

hopefully a video comes out so I can better understand.

      again, thanks

Had a chance to test it during some four legged interdiction ops, good piece of gear, I really like that adjustment mechanism.
