They’re fairly durable, depends on how you use them. Not meant to be a heavy/continual use thing anyway
I’ve got one in the OD green color and it is very compact. I’ve not taken out for a test drive yet, but it is in my bail out bag. The material feels quite durable and if it is as breathable as it says, you won’t wake up a sweaty baked potato. My plan is to use it with a lightweight sleeping bag to add to the insulation.
Mind telling us where it is manufactured please?
I certainly want to give this thing a try if it is as breathable as they say. I gave my USGI sleep set to the wife after ordering a Kifaru Slick Bag and Doobie and now I need a new bivvy.
This is awesome. I’ve had to use an e-bivvy a couple of times and I always hate waking up soaked in the morning. Having to go and immediately hydrate isn’t awesome either. All that moisture and body oil stuff also pretty much assures that you’re not using that ebivvy again. It always makes the reflective stuff peel off when it’s happened to me and then I’m just left with an over-sized trash bag.
these aren’t as breathable as a goretex bivvy but are an order of magnitude better then the mylar bivvys. The fabric is waterproof but keep in mind the seams aren’t taped and the zipper isn’t covered.
these are more durable then the disposable survival bags but they are still a consumable item, don’t expect to get several seasons out of them.
I have one in Orange. I combine mine with a Snugpak Thermalon liner. It’s a great ultra light weight combo for late spring to early fall in Ohio. I have thrown in my Kifaru Doobie for truly comfortable warmth down to 48 degrees. I’m very pleased they are producing it in green now. I will definitely be purchasing one.
