PPCLI – VP-100

VP-100

Commissioned by the Princess Patricia’s Canadian Light Infantry Regiment to commemorate their 100th anniversary, the VP-100 is designed to be the ‘Ultimate Combat Dagger’. Machined from AUS-8 stainless steel, it has an overall length of 12.5″, the VP-100 features a full tang with a 6″ blade. The blade is a double-edged dagger design with serrations, and a ‘BESH Wedge’ which eliminates tip weakness and provides a strong profile. The VP-100 also features a full guard with finger choil area for finger indexing. Designed to be utilized either forward or reverse grip, the VP-100 has a pronounced pommel for grip and striking, and a lanyard hole.

The VP-100 is part of a limited edition numbered series. Comes with mounting plates for vertical or horizontal attachment to any MOLLE platform.

That un-sharpened area forward of the guard should be labelled as “choil”, with a CH, not “coil”.

Ultimate combated and dagger is a contradiction in terms anyway. Daggers haven’t been particularly optimal for combat in quite a while. The SS daggers and SOE daggers of ww2 where both the result of cultural fetishes dating back to a period when daggers made sense for close combat.

If they wanted an ‘Ultimate Combat Dagger’ they should have probably used something other than AUS-8.

Its a nice, reasonably priced commemorative piece, I can’t see anyone buying into marketing fluff about “ultimate” anything and buying this for field use. It is a solid design and construction for what it is, if you want a numbered, collectable, knife by Besh for a reasonable price this is a good deal. Nice wall hanger for those with a connection to the Regiment. VP.

Isn’t this exactly the same as the XSF-1 that BHI has been making for more than five years now?
