    Pretty cool!

  2. Jbgleason says:

Why do I need a sling swivel to hold 850 lbs?

    • Terry says:

You don’t, but saying that it is rated for 850lbs is more impressive than saying that you’re unlikely to ever break it.

On the up side, it’s made of forged Dural, so it should weigh nearly nothing too.

  3. Whitesands says:

Obviously you’ve never had to do a hasty rappel while using your rifle as an anchor….

My question is.. What good is it if the female end isn’t rated for 850 lbs as well? Nothing like 50% percent solutions to non existing problems..

    • SSD says:

Bill Geissele told me it was rated to 850 lbs. That means it won’t break.

Complaining about being provided performance specs = first world problems

      • Jbgleason says:

I meant it more tongue in cheek. I get the point of providing the spec to state it is well built. It just seemed funny to throw that number out with that particular product.

  4. Will says:

850 static load I assume… That (roll?) pin don’t look 850 lbs. shock load ready… Could be wrong. Sorry. Just. Lack of definition of terms is, I feel, a nasty problem in this community. Pervasive and counterproductive.

    • Whitesands says:

Beat me too it, guess I woke up late

    • Mike says:

Well it’s a good thing you’re sophisticated enough to get all that from the photograph. And you didn’t even need to be spoon-fed!

    • SSD says:

Roll pins are strong as hell. In fact, Bill Geissele is amused at the controversy over this. He related that the pin is made by a company that specializes in roll pins and that the version they included in this ALG Defense product is stronger than the rest of the part.

The folks at ALG Defense have been reading this thread and sent this photo for the naysayers.

That pallet is suspended via the sling mount.

  5. Haji says:

Dang, now I need one of those, too.

  6. regularguy says:

I still won’t buy it because it’s not NWUIII/AOR2 which doesn’t match my fashion sense, tactical black is soooo old. Do I get my internet explorer badge now?

Seriously though, if I had the coin to toss around, I would absolutely pick one of these up. They are very impressive and the photo is awesome. Thank you Geissele
