Support Hot Shots Calendar

Apparently, are quite a few people up in arms over the “partially nude” models in this video we originally posted a couple of weeks ago. But that’s kind of the point of a pinup calendar isn’t it?

Yes, there’s currently a witch hunt afoot to root out whether members of the Utah Army National Guard and Utah Department of Public Safety provided unauthorized assistance to the 2015 Hot Shots Calendar. But that hasn’t altered our support to the project.

We are media partners with Hot Shots Calendar because of the great work they do to support the UK’s Help for Heroes as well as select US SOF charities. We’ve traveled to England in support of the calendar and seen up close and personal the great work the charity and the models have done to support UK’s wounded warriors. We ask that you continue to support these charities whether you purchase a Hot Shots Calendar or provide direct support.

I will have to file several more complaints for the omission of not being invited. 😉

  2. bulldog76 says:

what did ssd get a influx of puritans and chaplains all of a sudden ?? i see no issue here

    • SSD says:

It’s not SSD, it’s the public and yet another reason to be outraged. How dare those people raise money for military charities?

  3. Eric says:

Support Hot Shots and buy a calendar. If you live in Utah…buy two!

  4. 10thMountainMan says:

    bewbs……

  5. Alex says:

    Doesn’t this happen every year?

  6. gherk says:

    “no fun allowed”

  7. Eric says:

Perhaps if the models were wearing “special” underwear, they would meet the “moral values” of the Utah National Guard.

All kidding aside, this “controversy” will hopefully be good for sales since the extra publicity on a national level is good to help give exposure to the cause that is very deserving. I doubt the detractors actually disagree with the concept of raising money to help wounded veterans as generally patriotism and service are pretty strong values in Utah.

      • Siege-12B says:

Oh trust me, we here in the Utah guard have no problem at all with how these fine ladies were dressed for the shoot 😉
I’ll be buying a calender or two for sure.

        • SSD says:

From what I understand, the IG complaint was initiated by a former member of 19th Group who, after being thrown out of the unit, has an axe to grind.

          • Kaos-1 says:

The ultimate Blue Falcon. What a dickhead

          • Eric says:

There’s always some dick like that around. Now the good guys at JSOC are going to catch heat too.

          • Happy Joe says:

You understand wrong. This was taken to the IG by several members of the UTANG, and they were told “We already are aware of this.” The complaint came down from the Governor’s office to the UTANG according to an article on SOFREP written by someone that seems to have inside knowledge. I would consult with him for a more accurate picture of what really happened.

            • Sal says:

Seems like Utah’s governor is a puritanical douche.

              • SSD says:

Unless he reads SSD or follows Hot Shots, someone gave him a heads up.

                • Sal says:

Don’t see how that doesn’t make him a douche. He could’ve chose to ignore it; Instead he directed his office to file a formal complaint.

  8. Will says:

More than likely the video didn’t meet LBGT requirements and the PAO didn’t approve.

  9. MidgasFan says:

If you don’t want to look at beautiful women shooting guns, having a laugh and helping our warriors, DON’T LOOK! It’s really as simple as that. I can’t believe anyone was surprised by what they saw in the behind the scenes video.

This supports a great cause and I buy several calendars each year at SHOT and have all the lovelies sign them. They are very cool gas who will happily talk to you if you’re even half polite.

My wife was sick and couldn’t make the last day so we I told the women this they all happily signed a calendar for my wife. Very gracious, fun ladies who actually know a thing or two about guns and gear.

Keep up the good work SSD and damn the haters.

Who would complain about this vid? This is the internet ffs… this vid is tame as hell.

  11. John Smith says:

I’m so sick of this kind of bullshit. The amount of utter fucking garbage that I have to swallow on a daily basis involving: sensitivity, diversity, resilience, bullying, perceived intent and what ever else these weak fucks want to trot out as policy has displaced a good part of why I serve.

This is a harmless thing done for all of the right reasons.

    (deep breath)

  12. OG Kahuna says:

Living here in Utah and knowing that this shoot was going to happen, I didn’t really think much about it. The big outrage, at least as it was reported by the media, was how much of the local military resources were used in the shoot and who gave permission. They are specifically looking at Camp Williams and the UTANG. Personally, as someone who raises money for Vet groups, I like the whole thing. But then again, if you’re going to do something like this in Utah ( uber conservative ), you better CYA. And BTW, nice job with the automatic weapons girls!!! NEVER FORGET!!!

    • Savannah Boar Hunter says:

In the Utah Guard. Without revealing too much about an ongoing investigation, you are right. The problem wasn’t the boobs or bikinis, it was the unauthorized use of government property.

  13. Barilla says:

This is America, for God’s sake! Violence is a-ok but partial female nudity harms my sensibility and gives me unpure thoughts 🙁

  14. james says:

These young ladies are inspirational! If you find it offensive… that is your choice… but Pin Ups have been a part of the US Military for decades…

    GET OVER IT!

  15. cimg says:

Its the PC military, the current environment is a witch hunt and will stay that way for sometime. Right or wrong, heads will roll to pacify the politically correct lib crowd.

  16. Dave says:

I support the calendars and the causes, but it does sound like a breach of security – not that the girls look like they can be hiding much;)
