WEST VALLEY CITY, UTAH – October 20, 2014 | Silencer industry leader SilencerCo launched a line of threaded aftermarket pistol barrels today.

This step towards diversification is the first of several planned accessories expansions from the Utah-based company, who has garnered a loyal customer base by offering innovative products and best-in-the-business customer service. While rifle barrels can easily be threaded to accept a suppressor, most pistols require the purchase of a threaded aftermarket barrel to take advantage of the benefits a silencer can offer.

“The only thing better than a normal pistol barrel is a threaded pistol barrel,” stated SilencerCo CEO Joshua Waldron. “All pistol silencers require one. We noticed a market need for high quality pistol barrels and we stepped in to offer them.”

SilencerCo will begin sales with most common Glock models this year, adding select Sig Sauer, Springfield XD and Smith & Wesson M&P models in the first quarter of 2015. Barrels for Glock 17 and 21 can be purchased now on the company’s website and will ship in late October.

  1. I wonder who is making them for Silencer Co.

Where I appreciate the hell outta this SilencerCo… could you get your machinist back on the line making Sparrows, Ospreys, and such? Cuz’ I’m droolin’ for a .22 Can, and my suppliers are fresh out! Thank ya’ kindly! Keep up the good work!

  3. Just FYI…I emailed SilencerCo asking them if they make the barrels themselves, or are outsourcing them.

    I received a response.

They are presently purchasing them from another vendor, but hope to bring the work inside if/when demand makes that possible [$$$].

So, at this point they are not making them, themselves. They would not tell me who makes them.

Once I have confidence in the quality of the barrels, it would be cheaper to convert my P226 and Glock 19 barrels and attach my .45 can with adaptors than buying a new 9mm can, much like my .308 can attaches to my 5.56 platform and 300 BO SBRs.

I have owned a Silencerco Osprey for a while now and have been using Lone Wolf threaded barrels in all my Glocks. I personally have not had the greatest experiences with this companies products. I have been wanting to buy a different brand barrel to replace the Lone Wolfs. I ended up purchasing a Silencerco Glock 21 barrel the other day. Upon receiving the barrel I compared it to the Lone Wolf and found a substantial quality differnce. The Silencerco barrel does not appear to be made by Lone Wolf so I guess we can rule them out of the “who makes their barrel question”.
