Very neat pic! Colombia uses them quite extensively as well, I got the chance to see them close up. Really neat aircraft. I wish Embraer would venture out into military aircraft more than they have.
have to echo Mike D’s comments. Great low cost aircraft.
Almost looks like a photoshop out of a video game.
In which you play as the LAV himself.
That made my day.
Zing!
The kind of aircraft Canada needs. Slow enough to escort helicopters, fast enough to provide quick CAS, simple enough to operate from fairly rudimentary theater airfields… that’d be for a great addition to CANSOF considering there will never be money for proper armed helicopters. Also words better for air policing around summits (G8, NATO and the likes) than fighter jets.
Nope, you guys committed to the JSF. You need to keep your stake in this trillion dollar enterprise. We have our eyes on you to make sure you don’t back out and try to get super hornets.
While the Super T won’t be used to support US SOF or CANSOF in austere locations, we do facilitate their sale. Hopefully this is an airframe the Afghanis and our other poorer allies can maintain and make good use of. But, for our rich allies, you want the JSF.
I’m not sure “want” is the word, but otherwise that’s spot on LOL.
(And typo in my previous comment – should’ve been “works better” rather than “words better”)
Sounds like you are looking for an A-1 Skyraider.
