The M-LOK AFG is an update on the popular Angled Fore Grip which incorporates elements from both the original AFG and AFG2 in a new design that is also compatible with Magpul’s M-LOK attachment system. Manufactured from reinforced polymer material, the M-LOK AFG features a new radiused curve grip area in a streamlined, minimalist design. It is 3/4″ shorter than the AFG2 while maintaining a similar gripping surface area, and has a forward finger index similar to the original AFG. The contoured rear surface allows placing the AFG in front of an M-LOK MVG for a more versatile grip combination.

Seems very conveniently timed around the new angled grip from Haley and BCM. Always a step behind. Nice try Drake

    • Magpul says:

      How it is behind?

Magpul was the first company to produce the AFG back around 2009 and this is the third distinct version released in the series. So Magpul is the pioneer behind the entire concept with several others now following suit years later.

      • GUNFIGHTER! says:

Magpul is TOTALLY behind in using words like ‘kinesthetic” in product names and making double entendre product TLAs that phonetically match other cool TLAs. They’ve GOT to pull out all the stops and get a better thesaurus.

If they don’t pull out at LEAST a Scrabble “double word score” in their next release, it could be the beginning of the end.

    • Drake says:

Murry who? Murry needs a history lesson.

    • larry says:

Yeah because Magpul whipped up the new AFG in a week? The BCM AFG looks like a complete rip off of the Grip Stop IMHO.

I have MAD respect for Magpul! Pulling up and out of CO was a classy move.

    • straps says:

Choice is good. Haley, BCM or even Magpul, who’s become big (and therefore hate-able for the cliches others ape). I have parts from each on my guns. No Skimmers though.

Far as where Magpul sits on the innovation continuum, I love my 500/590 stock for the ergonomics. It allows me AND my wife to share a shotgun we can both enjoy shooting, which is rare for a fixed-stock longarm. If there’s something out there (for Remington OR Mossberg), I’m game to check it out–I have a Mesa/Enidine/AR stock-and-grip shotgun that I enjoy but that’s a whole lotta machinery to go bad in comparison…

  2. Capt. Google says:

Correct sir. If only Magpul had released some kind of foregrip with an angle sooner. An angled foregrip, if you will. They could have named it the AFG or something witty. They could have even done another one called the AFG II.

    Oh, what might have been…

  3. Justin M. says:

Magpul, any update/eta on the midlength m-lock handguard?

    • SPQR476 says:

SL Mid length will be in the spring. 11 more products to release prior to the end of this year, then about a dozen big ones at SHOT. We’ve been slammed, and the mid-length SL has been delayed in the scuffle, but we’re going to close out 2014 big, and start 2015 bigger.

      • larry says:

I will patiently await its arrival. The MLOK accessories release cycle has been very good. Especially if you compare it that of the Keymod rollout.

  4. DBack020 says:

These new handguards are nice, but prepare for a fight putting it on. (For Rifles and Carbines) Seems easy enough for shotguns though.; So far no issues, and they work like a charm!

  5. Luke says:

The new AFG looks like what I wished for when I first used an AFG. I always thought the rail interface made it too bulky, direct mounting looks like a big step up.

  6. Craig says:

What about a M-LOK heat shield(s) that are direct replacement for those shotguns that came with, or as a add-on,for those Mossberg’s that did not come with a heat shield.

I would love to have the M-LOK ability & capability, but hanging lights, sights, scopes or what have you, off of a shotgun foregrip is not for me.

  7. Jeremy says:

Can anyone tell me if the M LOK forend for the Mossberg 590/590A1 is also compatible with the Mossberg 500? The MOE forend was listed as working with both, though the M LOK does not mention the 500. Thank you
