TYR Thursday – SF Issue Huron Assaulters Sustainment Pack

1

Selected for issue as a component of the Special Forces Load Carriage System (SFLCS), the Huron Assaulters Sustainment Pack (part number HRN-ASP008) is a low profile design, manufactured from 500D Cordura as well as TYR Tactical’s proprietary Pluma Vires material. PV combines the strengths of Cordura and aramid to reduce weight and increase strength in high wear areas.

6

As you can see, the ASP008 incorporates removable spacer mesh shoulder straps for comfort when wearing the pack without armor. Additionally, it has a removable spacer mesh back panel that allows the pack to be worn as standard pack or attached to directly to a vest or plate carrier. The spacer mesh is antimicrobial to resist rot and stink associated with field use and also has an FR treatment.

2

The ASP008 has two side pockets with elasticized openings that will accept Nalgene water bottles or other items.

3

The PALS and mesh beavertail can be removed via the zipper that works in conjunction with a snap backup. It is large enough to carry a helmet and additional versions are coming out in Spring 2015.

7

In addition to a Velcro panel for ID, the beavertail offers PALS webbing for accessories. There is also a zippered pocket on the interior of the beavertail.

4

Internally, there are three Hydration Ports/Wire Routing Channels as well as an internal hydration bladder pocket. Finally, in addition to a mesh radio pocket with straps to secure the radio, there is a removable internal storage zipper pocket for items like batteries, etc.

5

The ASP008 has been assigned NSN 8465-01-632-9644. Although currently only available in MultiCam, the ASP008 will be offered in additional colors in 2015.
