SIG SAUER - Never Settle

FirstSpear Friday Focus – Tactical Dress Belt

We’ve mentioned the FirstSpear Tactical Dress Belt in the past but the photos to show what was going on weren’t available at the time. Plus, now we’ve got access to a video which explains the belt.

FS Tactical Dress Belt

Although the Tactical Dress Belt is way cooler than a mullet, it shares the same defining principle; business up front and party in the back. It was designed by a Law Enforcement and Personal Security Professional to allow you to look like a mild mannered businessman as you go about your duties, but when the defecation hits the oscillation, gives you a comfortable and stable platform for your sidearm as well as other essential items such as ammo and comms. That’s because you thread your belt through the 6/12 compatible channels.

This video gives you a great idea of what is going on.

Available in Black, one-size-fits-most.

I’m glad companies are exploring options for formal-wear CC but this seems overly complicated and bulky. Don’t think it’ll work too well underneath a tailored dinner jacket.

Stuff like this isn’t for CC, it is for “detail” work. A lot of folks confuse the two.

I have one and have used it for CCW/Work/running around town for a while now. I have used it with cold weather jackets, doesn’t matter just pick a name, and it runs fine. I have run it with sweatshirts. I have run it with CCW shirts in the summer, etc. It just comes down to whether you want it to work or not. And yes I have worn it with sport coats. People seem to make it complicated. Get it, try it, and figure it out. I have been carrying a weapon for almost 20yrs and my back and hips kill me . This helped me out a lot. The only thing I would change is the liner belt. Its to thick for me. I have a thinner belt I wear, It is really nice to not feel the pressure of belts, pistol, mags, light, cuffs etc digging into you. FYI haven’t been in uniform since 2006 so I have been CCW everyday. Me personally-I like it and it works for me.

For formal wear this is the only time I opt for IWB carry.

This seems like a great item for secret service types

I’m still trying to figure out if I could use it to accommodate for trying to get too much duty gear on my pants belt when in our “casual” uniform. I may have missed something, but is this the first iteration of “Battle Belt”, that will allow the use of normal LE concealed carry holsters with 1.75 or 1.5 inch belt slots?

    • Scot says:

      Bill,
It is designed so that you can either have the belt exposed for normal concealed carry holsters or have the belt interior and mount using Pals. There are slots spaced out around the belt so you can run the belt on the outside for a section and then back to the inside. Of course the “dress” belt you use will determine what size holster loops you can use, and how dressy it looks. The other thing about this is that you can have a couple of them set up and by just switching out the outer belt go to a completely different setup without having to unthread anything. You just undo the buckle of your dress belt and pull the sleeve free from the Velcro, and it goes back on just as quick.

From watching the video and checking out the FS website, you would be able to run 1.75 or 1.5″ holster with 1.75″ or 1.5″ belt. I’ve been looking for something like this for a long time!

No, FirstSpear. An ugly black buckle on a big ass dress belt definitely doesn’t “look great”. Stick to Military and LE gear and leave the sartorial to others, please.

this is crazy. I’ve been designing something like this in my head for awhile. Except mine the hip pad sits inside the pants. Now I just need to learn how to use a sewing machine.
