SOFIC 2015 – Blue Force Gear

While located at an offsite location, Blue Force Gear is very much here at this year’s SOFIC. They debuted their “wall of gear” and a couple of things caught my eye.

First off is the Triple M4 Mag Now! Pouch hitting the site for sale within the week.
Next is the Water Bottle Pouch that is currently available for agency purchase.  It holds both 1 Qt canteen and Nalgene bottle.

Seen here are MultiCam Tropic and Arid examples.  The matching trims and pulls aren’t in yet so these protos use standard MultiCam.

Like all BFG products these are Made in USA and incorporate MOLLEminus features as well as Helium Whisper technology.

Actually the prototypes with PALS in Multicam shows how good it combines with Arid and Tropic, interesting.

Been waiting for the triple M4 NOW! to go on sale since SHOT. Great looking piece of kit and I really think the pull tabs make the whole piece with their ability to be placed on top or to take a corner for retention.

Ignore that comment…I just checked again.

Let’s just hope those plastic pulls stay in their place, though.

And the cool stuff just keeps coming…BFG never fails to impress.

I’ve kind of fallen out of love with a lot of my BFG products. I was all about the Trauma Kit now, but the more I use it, the more I really don’t like it at all. There is almost nowhere to put it where you can actually employ it, and although it fits on three columns of molle, it’s far taller than that. I have basically dropped it for an Eagle SOF IFAK, which is just overall more versatile and lower profile.

Not really liking the ultralight dump pouch either. It’s way too expensive for what it is, and it flaps around so excessively when you are running or just police calling brass. I guess it’s a nice option for when you aren’t sure if you’re going to need a dump pouch or not though.

I still like my Ten-Speed mag pouches, the Boo-Boo pouch and of course the Vickers sling. I would be more eager to use BFG pouches if they were available in AOR1, but for obvious reasons this isn’t going to happen any time soon.

Will we see the water bottle pouch as a regular offering?

any word on when the 10 speed belt pouches will turn up?
