Rampart Range Day – Aku

The Aku NS564 Bosco has been a great militarized trekking shoe for the last decade.  Unfortunately, supply here in North America has been difficult.  Today I met up with the North American distributor.  In addition to Rampart International in Canada, they are available in the U.S. Through Procurement Specialists.

Above, is the NS564 Spider.  It’s a slight modification to the classic model (which is still available), adding a rubber rand along the edge of the toe in order to counter wear.  The NS564 family has a tighter toe box than Aku’s Pilgrim models which were introduced a couple of years ago.  This is because of their use as an approach or urban climbing boot.

Feel free to inquire through www.akuoutdoor.com.

Not so, doing business with Trekkit UK from the USA is not a problem. Their customer service is great, they promptly ship at a very fair rate and it’s easy to return. Package arrived (Upstate NY) in a week.

yeah, I’ve been wanting these for some time now. i just cant rationalize paying over $100 for shipping.

I can’t rationalize $100 for shipping either and would never do so. Maybe something has changed due to the exchange rate, but I believe I paid under $35 to ship 2 pair from Trekkit (UK) a year and a half ago. Don’t think I paid any sales tax either, but may have paid duty…just can’t remember specifics.
Point is, that it was much le$$ painful than I expected. A US dealer would be nice if the overall price is competitive, they offer good customer service and an easy return policy.

For the record, Procurement Specislists is a fantastic company with great customer service. They are also located in the USA. They’re who I’ve bought all my AKU’s from, and, because of their service, I’m a customer for life. I have zero affiliation with them except as a customer, but I feel it needed to be said.

For the record, I’ve used Procurement Specialists more than once in the past and I’ve been nothing but more than satisfied. Actually, I used them to order these same exact boots and I they were shipped immediately and I got them at a great price. They are definitely some of the best rucking boots I’ve had (albeit on the warmer side) and I’ve been very happy with them. Considering all of the “tactical” boot offerings available to everyone today… these boots should be the first choice for anyone who is looking for a solid boot.

Hi Folks! Just so you know, Procurement Specialists is a a full service Quartermaster that has had these boots available in the US since 2011. We certainly hope our clients think weโ€™re easy to work with! Procurement Specialists were actually featured in SSD MAR14 for these exact items (https://soldiersystems.net/2014/03/14/aku-boots-available-procurement-specialists-llc/)

We carry all five different military styles of Aku boots as well as their civilian line. We offer a flat rate shipping ($15 USD) anywhere in the US and have very easy exchange policies regarding boots that are damaged and or have factory defects. While our distribution agreement requires us to list the boots at MSRP, we routinely offer discount codes, volume discounts and combined shipping.
