Well at least he knows how to have fun 🙂
And it could be worse… that could have been a Hello Kitty Cosplayer

I sort of feel like SS busts his balls too much. You guys are a pretty professional blog, but then about every two or three months one of these “WTF” blogs with a random picture of Costa pops up, and it just seems petty. I feel like this shit belongs in the General Discussion portion of ARFCOM, not an industry leading blog.

    • Stelio Kontos says:

Calm down bud, I think it’s safe to say this qualifies as a WTF? moment if any, you got Costa being choked out by Vader in Japan… I’d think to myself WTF is going on in this situation as would most. I think your version or understanding of WTF must be negative, but it’s a pretty general social term these days that doesn’t necessarily mean a bad thing

Don’t jump on Eric… Jump on the keyboard commandos/disgruntled instructors that pop up here and hate everything the man does because somewhere in that mental state of hate they wish they were getting choked out in Japan and getting paid for it as well

      +1

It’s not like the whole industry doesn’t do the same thing. He reaps what he sows as far as that goes. If you act like a comic book Instagram hero or even tip a bit towards the poser side of things the industry reacts.

    • SSD says:

I get a kick out of this. How did I bust Costa’s balls? I shared a photo that he released. I didn’t make fun of him and in fact said that it looked like he was having a good time, which it does.

      • archer says:

Speaking of busting balls…looks like Costa is going for the grab-twist-grab on Vader.

      • Haji says:

I wouldn’t mind getting paid what he does to go be a rock star in Japan for a couple weeks. Like the old saying goes, its good work if you can get it.

Its not ball busting, its posting a photo to a blog. Any attempt at ball busting C. Costa is in the comments.

    • Steve says:

      Relax, fan boi.

  3. Jordan says:

Why didn’t he just use the force?

  4. Amish says:

Is he going to be some weabos spankbait senpai like last year: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=O3CxkhMVva4

    • Washington says:

Like any of the “serious” gun blogs you follow including this one are functionally anything different than “weaboo spankbait,” only difference is a distinct lack of self awareness in the people running and reading them

  5. Dev says:

I don’t understand why people feel so strongly either way about this.

    A. He’s an idiot with his shamless self-promotion and selling-out antics.

    B. He’s a consummate amd savvy business person taking advantage of the market.

    C. Both

    D. Any point in the middle of extremes A and B.

Whichever it is, world goes on and people live and die.

  6. SShink says:

I hear there’s big $$$ in bukkakkae over there.

  7. Philip says:

I don’t think SSD really busts anyone’s balls…unless they truly deserve it. Whether you like Costa’s airsoft fanboy status or not, he’s laughing all the way to the bank while you disgruntled people come here to bitch about it.

He saw a market opportunity, made the plunge, and profited accordingly. Isn’t that what the American dream is all about?

  8. Jon says:

I’m pretty sure this is because Vader was just told it would be stupid to put a red dot on his lightsaber.

  9. defensor fortismo says:

“I find your lack of modeling disturbing.”

  10. Roger Rabbit says:

I am no airsofter or fanboi. I’m no Costa fan and do not have any desire to buy what he’s selling. Having said that, I respect the guy for making a good business move by getting paid doing what he likes. I have zero hate for any airsofters/fanboi’s too. All the money they spend on gear helps keeps tactical gearmakers in business. Those businesses then continue to develop gear for the rest of us fulltime shooters. I sure don’t mind if some guy/gal in another country wants to dress up as an American (as long as its done respectfully). That sure beats them being fanboi’s of ISIS and dressing up as one of those morons.

    • lcpl1066 says:

LOL I wonder if they have these people at milsim meet ups. “Hey, Tony, who do you want to dress up as? 75th? Group? SEALS? Recon?” “No Bill, I was thinking ISIS for this weekend” “Cool. If that doesn’t work out I got some Hezbollah green bandanas you can wear if you want to stick to the jihadi theme”

At the first airsoft game I went two guys on my side dressed as reasonably accurate Cold War Soviet soldiers. These guys spent the whole day running around with a Soviet flag getting on top of anything taller than shoulder height and waving it around badly singing the Soviet national anthem. It was like they thought we were in 1941 Berlin. Both guys spoke broken Polish and one of them refused to talk to anyone in English. The other guy would not drop his bad accent when he did speak English. This silliness started in the parking lot and ran through the whole day, even clean up at the end. They were pretty useless from a winning the game perspective, but it was fun to watch.

At another event all the refs and organizers doubled as role players for some of the scenarios. They were supposed to be a cartel and dressed like they were on Miami Vice in Hawaiian shirts. At the same event a half dozen guys showed up dressed like the cast of SG1.

There was even a guy in our area who had a legit 1980’s Mujahedeen costume, a Viet Cong set up, and multiple reasonably accurate US Viet Nam “load outs”. I never saw him in the bad guy outfits at a game I attended, but I saw the photos from games he wore that stuff to.

We also had a group of guys who played as IDF solders. But, the weirdest thing I ever saw was 15 year old who showed up kitted out as WWI era German storm trooper. The game was just a casual pick up game at a local paintball place. But, the guy went full Hun anyway.

      • mupp says:

There is an airsoft team in Georgia made up of ex 75th RR guys.
Plenty of ex mil including sneaky beaky type chaps play airsoft.

    • Airborne_fister says:

I’m in a wheelchair. I’ve been to a paintball game and an airsoft game. I went as a tank to the airsoft. Made it outta that pink styrofoam stuff for houses. Then put cardboard over top of it. The game we played was they had to break thru the tank and hit me in the chest.

He’s an ambassador for firearms in a country that does not have them. Hopefully as more and more people are exposed to firearms in a non-threatening, non-reactionary way, they can be de-stigmatized in that country like they are in the US.

    One can hope.

  12. CWG says:

Can’t hate Tactical Bill Maze. At least he doesn’t have 75 guys do a live fire room clearing all at the same time and threaten to kill people on youtube over legislation he doesn’t like.

  13. MtMeds says:

SS keeping it light and funny as we should.. Don’t take your selves so serious, Were in a blog. So that means we have wifi and can chill .

Hand on Cock.. see that.. even Costa is having fun…
