SHOT Show – Meprolight Mepro FT: Circle Dot Sight

DSC07453

For 2016, Meprolight is releasing the newest addition to their Mepro FT (Fiber Optic/Tritium) line of self-illuminated pistol night sights, the Mepro FT: Circle Dot Sight. The Circle Dot Sight is the first in the line to consist entirely of a rear sight. The illuminated circle dot lines up between the two rear posts, allowing for quick target acquisition. Additionally, the sight comes with a 12 years luminance guarantee.

The Circle Dot Sight will be available in both green and orange, coming Q1 of this year.

Tried it out in the booth and wasn’t a fan (10minutes total exposure). Great glow, but it relies on you getting the eye relief/vignetting correct and if you’re so focused on the sight, seems to defeat the purpose. Just my 1/2cent

Concept kinda reminds me of the old Guttersnipe sight used on the ASP. I’d want to try one out first but it could be nice on a smaller CCW piece or as a backup to a pistol mounted RDS.

These look identical to the T.A.S. sights. Did Tactical Aiming Solutions get bought out by Meprolight?

I checked them out at the show. I actually was impressed. The green version is much brighter, and that version I would try in the future.
