Post SHOT Show Wrapup – SIG MCX Lower Receiver Adapter

Last year we showed you the lower receiver adapter which will allow you to attach a SIG MCX upper receiver to your AR-style lower. Immediately, we began fielding questions on where users could get this elusive product. At SHOT Show, we got the answer.

The adapter will come as a component with upper reciever groups. This is great news for those that just buy an upper but a little disappointing for those who already bought a full MCX and wamt to use the upper with an existing AR lower.

The adapter screws into the threads at the rear of the lower which normally accept the lower receiver extension. Once installed you can use an MCX upper and attach MCX stocks.

    When will these be available

As someone with a psiton driven upper that doesn’t need a bigger tube. I’d REALLY like to buy one of these without the upper. Hopefully there’s a used market for them.

Can you use the telescoping wire stock with this instead of the folder?

Is it just me or is the left side of the receiver notched infont of the bolt catch/release? There’s a portion of the mcx upper that extends down in to a recess cut in the lower receiver….. Is that going to be feature on the production model thus necessitating a modification to an otherwise standard lower?
