Legal Manufacturing, LLC Announces NIB Battleworn Glock 19

NIB BATTLEWORN GLOCK 19 W MAGS

Chattanooga Shooting Supply, Inc., to be exclusive distributor of the
NIB BATTLEWORN™ Glock 19

Ringgold, GA, June 8, 2016 – Legal Manufacturing, LLC, a leading provider of firearm plating and technical finishes, and Chattanooga Shooting Supplies, Inc., is pleased to announce an exclusive collaboration to use Legal Manufacturing’s patent-pending NIB BATTLEWORN™ finish on the Glock® 19 pistol.

“We are extremely proud to partner with Chattanooga Shooting Supplies, Inc., to bring this exclusive to market,” said Jin H. Kim, Chief Executive Officer for Legal Manufacturing. “We believe the BATTLEWORN™ Glock® 19 is a perfect fit for customers looking for a highly durable daily-carry factory firearm with an incredible finish.”
Chattanooga Shooting Supplies, Inc., will be the exclusive distributor for the Legal Manufacturing NIB BATTLEWORN™ Glock® 19 pistols. Please contact your local firearm dealer for availability.

NIB BATTLEWORN™ a low-observable, patent-pending nickel-boron plating treatment offers superior scratch and wear characteristics while simultaneously reducing friction to aluminum, steel, and titanium firearm surfaces. The color of NIB BATTLEWORN™ is a dark shade of gray with an aesthetically distressed, modern “battle” finish. NIB BATTLEWORN™ creates a smooth and uniform plating barrier without adding significant dimension to the metal part, increases the surface hardness of the plated part, and produces a product that is superior to competing plating systems. Legal Manufacturing’s proprietary process yields a tough, tactile, and exclusive firearm plating for suppressors, receivers, rail systems, barrels, bipods, slides, trigger assemblies, and other critical firearms components with no adverse impact on operation.

Let me get this straight. People are paying extra for a finish that looks USED on a new gun? OK then.

    • Mission Spec says:

Well. Americans do buy pants with holes already in them.

    • historia says:

Right, I am confused a bit too. It provides better protection with a distressed look? Is that right?

      • Whit says:

How about better protection with a NEW look!

      • BillC says:

Right? If people really want that wear finish, earn it. Or get a cop Glock trade in (holster wear out the ass). Even still, the stock finish is still plenty good enough. People just gotta spend their money on something I guess, God forbid it’s actually on ammo or training.

  2. Dellis says:

This is like a customer who came in my shop with a base model Porsche Carrera who then spent another $25k trying to make it “look” like a Porsche Turbo S!

So this is a new Glock made to look worn for extra money? What happens when the worn look is replaced with, well a worn look?

  3. Brent says:

Plot twist: Legal Manufacturing, LLC is discovered to be owned by Glock as a channel to sell off their off-grade finish guns.

    • Brent says:

There is only room for one of us around these parts. So I will show myself out.

  4. PNWTO says:

“Coming soon, truck manufacturers to release pickups with scratches and dings pre-installed for character!”

    *Additional charges WILL apply.

    • Diddler says:

Next year the hail damage will not cause a discount but an upsale on the car lot!

  5. Philip says:

Ha, my carry Glock already looks like this. A few years in and out of holsters and range usage will get you this look; for free! 😉

  6. Hubb says:

    Patina…

  7. Sierra5 says:

Why spend disposable income on quality instruction, practice ammo, or extra magazines, when you can spend it on a new “distressed” Glock? P.T. Barnum just cracked a big smile.

  8. I think I have their PR campaign for this new finish:

STOLEN VALOR: For That Operationally Operational Look Without the Operating

  9. mike says:

Some people like the look of well-worn implements. As previously stated people buy busted up jeans. The market for old and well-used axes is pretty strong. The look of a tool that has been there and done that appeals strongly to some people. With all of the terrible paintjobs being applied to Glocks out there is this really so bad?

  10. Snakeman says:

What? Pay extra. I can get close to the same results by throwing it down the driveway a couple of times, and save the money to buy more ammo. Duh!

  11. P.J. says:

Saw one of these in a store awhile back. Looked better than the picture but not cool enough to justify a price hirer than the MOS model sitting next to it.

  12. JS says:

I think everyone is missing the “nickel boron plating treatment” and focusing on the cosmetics…..

    • jbgleason says:

No. Those are two separate things. The nickel boron is great and all but then they add the “distressed” look. Which you are paying them to do. The coating in and of itself is a solid color.

    • BillC says:

I never realized the standard finish on a Glock was soooooo inferior. Save your coin from a whiz-bang finish and buy moarz ammo.

    • Diddler says:

Because Glocks are already finished fine. Pretty? No. Impervious to corrosion and very long wearing? Yes!

  13. Didn’t realize Glocks were tres chic now.

  14. Hank says:

Don’t know why everyone is surprised… This has been a mainstay in the guitar industry for over a decade.

  15. Grump says:

    Instant Boba Fett.

  16. Stickman says:

This is market driven, there are companies selling refinishing applications which give a heavily used look.

What I can’t tell is much of anything from the picture. It looks more like a spotlight shown on the frame than it does a distressed or worn finish.

  17. Justin says:

Great Work and I want one; I would ignore the InterWeb Trolls who apparently have a lack of intellect – clearly a battle worn finish is independent of the treatment: “a low-observable, patent-pending nickel-boron plating treatment offers superior scratch and wear characteristics while simultaneously reducing friction to aluminum, steel, and titanium firearm surfaces”

  18. Ben says:

Damn, I need to get an FFL and start re-selling Po-surp Glocks with a $200 mark-up.

  19. Riceball says:

Maybe this a way for them to cut corners while not making it seem like they’re cutting corners. Instead of taking their time and applying the coating in a nice even manner they slap it on real quick and sort of haphazardly and call it distressed.

  20. Desert Lizard says:

This gives me a great idea – maybe I should try to sell my old pickup truck for a “new” price because it has that “used” look. They might be onto something here.

  21. Rick Wingard says:

I screwed up a hydro dip being cheap ….sanded it off….showed my screw up to more than a couple friends and peeps at the range…they all said cool that is nice battleworn…what the hell is battleworn? i said no going to redip it …they were like just leave it the way it is looks good….oh well….

  22. Holster HQ says:

Think they’re cutting corners. And the price jump is ridiculous.
