Designed for shooters who prefer using iron sights, the ARCHITEK™ simply clamps onto a standard AR-15 barrel between .735″ and .750″ in diameter, and extends the sight radius to the maximum length possible. It works on rifles without the traditional front sight tower gas block.
It also compensates for any variances in free-float handguard design or installation, or flexing due to firing or sling pressure that could cause imperfect sight alignment. Precision machined from billet aluminum, the ARCHITEK™ is strong but weighs only 1.3 oz. to help keep the rifle balanced and fast-handling.

I was never in the “clamp on gas blocks aren’t rugged enough” camp because lo-pro clamp ons are generally under the handguard and there isn’t much mass to cause it to twist. This thing, on the other hand, looks like I could grab it and torque it off center by hand. Not only would that cause sight alignment issues but would probably turn your black rifle into a single shot. I would be very hesitant to put this on a duty rifle.
How would make your AR a single shot? It’s just a clamp on front sight.
OK then. I read this as being a front sight/gas block combo. If this is solely a sight that is added to the barrel along with a separate gas block then disregard the earlier comment regarding function. I still maintain it would be problematic as a clamp on with no dimple or other addition to keep it from turning.
Military morons has a post from jul 30 2007, ttp://www.militarymorons.com/weapons/ar.optics2.htm, where they tested a vltor clamp on front sight tower. They ended up breaking the index pin with the torque they applied. It’s only one test but it shows clamp on blocks can be plenty secure.
Never been a fan of mounting sights to the handguard rails, but you pretty much have to do it with lasers anyway.
The dissipator/Kino look is much better and they are pinned. I don’t find this sight very attractive but really applause them for making something that might fit in places a standard sight tower won’t. Maybe something more like the standard sight profile with a simple screw in the side will develop from this.
