SHOT Show 17 – Gear Aid Tactical Knife

You probably know Gear Aid under the name McNett. They’ve been offering tactical and outdoor accessories for years. They recently updated their Tactical Knife which is an inexpensive, fixed blade utility knife.

It features a 3″ titanium coated, 420 stainless steel blade with stiletto tip and glass breaker tang. The blade incorporates a cord cutter and serrations.  The polymer sheath can be mounted to PALS, clipped to items or attached to a belt.

I have this knife but with an earlier version sheath. Mine is all kydex/plastic with a proprietary type clip. The entire blade is covered, I really like the knife and it was on sale when I got it. I think it was $19.00 US. I think this sheath is an improvement though.

    Any idea where it’s made?

  3. Dellis says:

Great sheath as it appears to offer good number of attachment points. The blade/handle would be great just a tad longer. The 420 steel isn’t a deal breaker as this is a utility blade.

At this price point one can get several and place in glove box, tackle box, tool bag, attach to seat belt, etc.

Or fend off a ninja clan!

Hope they make a flat tip, that’s perfect in blade design, size, and sheath for a river knife on a life vest.

I like this knife, but I have the old (solid) sheath. This one looks like it would be easier to mount horizontally on a belt. Mine looks all juryrigged.

Looks like a perfect cardboard box cutter
