Uniqlo’s Mens Military Work Long Sleeve Shirt Is The Spitting Image Of A 64 Pattern OG-107 Fatigue Jacket

Uniqlo is a Japanese active wear brand known for their inexpensive wares.  Recently, I found out they were recreating the Cotton OG-107 Fatigue Jacket which may well be the most iconic variant of the green fatigues-era of our armed forces. The Shirt has the classic lines and even feels like it’s been washed quite a bit, just like you’d find in a 1970s surplus store.

In addition to OD, they also offer Khaki and Black. They’ve even included color appropriate buttons for those variants.

Currently in clearance, get yours before they’re gone. One note, unlike Issue uniforms, they are Small-3XL. Also, go up a size for these.

+1 on the sizing comment. The torso is slim but fitted to size if you’re in reasonable shape, but sleeves are very tight fit and I barely even lift.

  2. James says:

Black and OD already down to the small sizes.

      These are navy, not black.
The shirts were up on website for over 5 months now, depleting stock then restocking in regular intervals all this time. I guess this is the end of the line now as the stocks are diminishing rapidly.

Damn it – looks like the perfect shirt ive been looking for, but they’re already sold out in XL, in all colors 🙁

uniqlo is the japanese GAP, with a line in outdoor-looking stuff. they are an interface for toray, who basically make all the fabrics gore and polartec done. their down stuff, baselayers, some shells are 75% as good as the north face, patagonia etc. whats lacking is often the fastners, zips etc are a step down, seam allowances anemic, details skimped on.

but all said, if youre only doing 100 days or less at the sharp end it will do, and at the prices you can buy double and alternate.

A very clean looking shirt, I just wish it had covered buttons.

      Than they won’t be A65 OG-107s replicas, will they…

These are indeed a repro pattern-64 Vietnam era utility shirts in true to original OG-107 cotton poplin.
I have the original and bought 6 of these on clearance (2 in each color). The last time I saw them made so well as repros was some 10 years ago when the well known Japanese company which specialized in US army garment reproductions (the name escapes me now) and offered them for no less than $250. Uniqlo does not produce this kind of garments as part of their usual clothing lines, they must have outsourced this shirt to an external contractor to copy, design and produce.

Pretty much everything on the olive green shirt is identical to the original Pattern-64 shirt I own, except for the fit. The original is baggy so the narrower fit is a welcome addition, IMO. Stitching, pocket size and placement, washed-out cotton poplin (spot on OG-107 in both the thickness, color shade and appearance). Even the buttons are exactly the same, slightly thinner in profile like the ones from the 60es. Great work, whoever and whichever shop produced this.

I now have 6 for $120 and not complaining.

As OP said, go size up, these are narrow and tailored slim fit, sleeves are a little longer which will suit taller people, but they are so narrow that you won’t be able to roll them up past the elbow as our dads used to to back in the day with the originals.

Imagine Uniqlo releasing a repro of the famous jungle fatigues in the future…I’d be over the moon and probably bought the whole floor stock in my size!

I saw that and for whatever reason I heard Gomer Pyle saying, “Well Gooooleee!”

I live in NYC and both Uniqlo’s in midtown have the OD green ones for $14.99 with lots of medium/large sizes.

While we’re on topic of current fashion labels repros of iconic military garments, Gap Inc has not-half-bad reproduction of the M-51 snorkel parka without insert. This one comes in thinner (summer) pre-washed vintage cotton poplin but features additional internal cotton lining and internal pocket as a bonus. Not bad overall.

I bought this and I can say some of my $100 best spent.

Just picked one of those Gap parkas in XL Long, as you said not bad at all for the price and attention to detail. Snap buttons, zipper, draw cords – all are as faithfully mil-spec replicated as it is possible these days.

It is however spring/autumn garment, not insulated enough for winter but could work as an overcoat too, eg over your jeans or bomber jacket.

L, XL & XXL back in stock this morning – get them while you can, they usually last few hours in these sizes, at $14.90 it’s a no-brainer even if you end up not wearing it and list them for sale later, they will go for 5x that much at least.

    Got myself 3 x XL and 2 x L for my son.
