I’m kinda sad the new guy isn’t named Baloney.

    Regardless, good riddance.

  2. Adam says:

Good on X Products. It is not always easy to stand for your principles.

  3. TominVA says:

No such thing as the 1st Amendment when you’re in business. I feel kinda bad for the guy, but really what did he think was going to happen? Sheesh!

    • A.J. says:

1st amendment doesn’t prevent accountability for your words. You still get arrested and charged if you falsely yell “fire” in a movie theater and cause a stampede which results in the death of someone.

      • P.J. says:

And it doesn’t apply at all to actions by private persons. The idea that you have a right to say whatever you want without consequences is a failure of civics education.
The First Ammendment means your neighbors can’t make the government throw you in the stocks for saying something they don’t like. But they’re still allowed to shun you.

        • Mike Bolton says:

Very well said. I tell people all the time, that you are free to do whatever you want, whenever you want, and nobody generally can stop you, however… you must always be prepared to face the consequences of your choices and actions. Thats being an adult.
Unfortunately it seems these days, a lot of these bonehead protesters, and kids in general, think they can scream and yell and pepper spray combat vets without consequence, and frankly… the look of surprise on their face, when they get grabbed by the throat, and they suddenly realize… its not the internet, and they are about to get seriously phucked up… its priceless! And a valuable life lesson.

    • Laird says:

You have freedom of speech. You do NOT have freedom of consequences from your speech.

More specifically, X-Products, as a commercial enterprise, is free to exercise *their* 1st Amendment rights by removing an officer whom put words in X-Products’ mouth. When you’re the CEO, your words *automatically* reflect on the company, and when you misrepresent the company’s stated positions, well, you’re *done.*

  4. Harm Uden says:

I hypothesize there are many in the gun industry that make money off of gun enthusiasts and don’t fully support second amendment rights. They should all be exposed.

    • cat blaster says:

ha, last I checked exploitation of others for financial gain is not illegal in america.

    • Jester says:

Harm you may be right, but the jokes on them, not us. We’re the one reaping the benefits of their industry.

I’m sure many of the people working at or running the stores I shop at (Amazon for instance) have completely opposite political beliefs than me, but they have the product I want, and I have the money they want.

  5. DSM says:

Damage is done, son. Don’t much matter what you do from here.

And, was he removed entirely with a call to buy back shares or is he sitting as an executive consultant so that the business could do this damage control?

  6. will sew 4kit says:

    what did he say?
    When did he say it?
    etc.

  7. staghounds says:

    Thank you.

  8. Alex says:

Despite not being CEO he still holds 50% of the company according to his LinkedIn meaning he will probably still be getting paid.

    • Vic Toree says:

So if he’s still getting paid off of their sales, and his wife is asking for donations to Everytown, it’s not a huge logical leap to think that some small part of the revenue from sales could end up in anti-gun/anti-2a coffers.

Gee, I wonder how much of each Magpul D60 or Surefire MAG60/100 goes to Everytown (my bet would be on $0.00)?

      • TominVA says:

So are you going to boycott every business that hires this guy?

It’s just an opinion. They canned him. I’m sure negotiations are underway to buy him out. Shouldn’t that be enough?

        • Jester says:

Common sense says if you believe people should ride horses instead of drive cars, you don’t go into the car business.

Don’t see why we need to make an exception for guns.

Nor do I understand your immediate rush to defend anti-freedom progressives every single time the gun rights issue is raised.

        • Vic Toree says:

No my comment wasn’t about boycotts, it was about there being other options on the market (in my opinion better ones in the case of the D60) that don’t come with baggage.

Whether or not to shop with them is your choice to make and I don’t feel any particular need to try and help you decide where your money goes, you do you, as they say.

  9. Tazman66gt says:

Still part owner so still making money off of sales.

  10. Evets Steve says:

Team Wendy once again points out that their booth was only nearby, not directly participating in this.

  11. Dellis says:

Ya know, given all this drama, his real name is just so perfect one would think he is a character in the next Austin Powers movie!

Mr. Malarkey! The corrupt evil doer who can’t help but say stupid crap!!

  12. JK says:

Please do not forget to boycott his other company “Malarkey Roofing Products” at malarkey roofing.com, make sure whoever he supplies roofing products to on the west coast and in the midwest is aware that he is anti-2nd Amendment. Just boycotting x products will not stop he and his wife’s anti-gun fundraising efforts, make sure everyone knows not to buy products from Malarkey Roofing as well.

    Thank you

    • Ronald Budworth II says:

That’s Very Good Information about malarkey roofing, For I’m Sure it generates FAR More Income for mr.malarkey & wife than X-products ever did !!!!! Screw them both…

    You Never Go Full Potato

    • SSD says:

My only concern about Dick’s position is that they are violating the civil rights of 18-20 year olds who can legally purchase firearms. Same goes for Walmart. There should be penalties for this.

Other than that, I think it’s great news for actual firearms dealers. They are who we should be supporting anyway. Buy firearms and accessories from gun stores, not big box stores.

  14. El Terryble says:

Saw this coming a mile away. This is what you get for letting your wife hyphanate her name. Let ‘em get away with that and then they come for your guns and your du-dads.
