Go Commando Show – Episode 40: Dr Brett Haake Performing a Stem Cell Procedure on Fred Galvin

We recently introduced you to the Go Commando Show which featured an interview with SGM Rob Trivino (USA, Ret). If you missed it, go back and listen in.

However, in this latest episode, Dr Brett Haake performs a stem cell procedure on host Fred Galvin’s knees. So many of us have bad knees after our service that I thought this would be some great information. Fred tells me the procedure was six weeks ago and feels the results have been great.

Dr Haake explains the risks and rewards of stem cell and platelet rich plasma therapy. He is an Anesthesiologist, Stem Cell Physician and former Navy Medical officer who deployed to Afghanistan and multiple countries in Asia.

Barring mechanical disruption like straight up catastrophic injury where damage has been done, so much can be accomplished with a strategic and holistic physical preparation strategy.

Likely most knee pain due to faulty motor patterns over ‘bad knees’ due to service.

Unfortunately, easier said than done, and usually requires a special funding body to get excellent (many mediocre programs out there that will result in no real change) physical therapy and physical performance at the same time.

I’ve had the privilege of helping many get out of years of pain without having to resort to radical strategies. Not saying that this isn’t a solution, just that one can get incredibly far without.

I’m scheduled to have my left knee done on the 23rd of this month. I tore my meniscus back in June 2015 and had surgery that August. Have had knee pain ever since. Fingers crossed this will finally fix that.
