No “fighting” from the threshold? Is that meaning clearing from the threshold is a nogo or we talking bout sitting up shop in the fatal funnel?

I had the same question. I spent years charging through doors until we got to the “clear as much as you can before you enter” phase. Are we going back old school again?

Not to mention, I liked being Hall Boss. But I can see how that would be unsustainable in a bigger structure.

      • Nunya250 says:

Hallboss is about 15 years outdated, and fighting from the threshold depends on the construction of said threshold. It works overseas (where we’ve been fighting) because the structures are able to absorb rounds (cover). Here in America, for the most part, thresholds only offer concealment. Drywall will not stop rounds, even pistol rounds. Once you throw that door, the gig is up (if there is an adversary in that room). Could go on if needed, but I feel the point has been made.

In America, where “visits” are announced and lights have to be used for legal reasons, I would employ shields at all cost.

Dynamic entry to me, at this point, is hostage rescue type situation. This has been proven in blood and sim rounds.

You guys realize Dan has done this stuff not only down range but taught others in SOF to do it at the advanced level, right? This is a short video with an overview of some techniques, not all encompassing.
