ETS: Had 36x of the Gen 1 Glock magazines, experienced numerous failures to feed across the bunch due to warped springs causing friction inside the mag tube, contacted the company, received new springs that were just as warped, ended up selling the whole lot. ETS mags are butter smooth and the clear polymer is useful but they just didn’t work worth a damn.
I don’t know what a proper sample size would be but 36 is enough for me.
Nobody has improved on factory Glock mags, function or price point.
I only have two, and only use them at the range or competition. Had zero issues in a few thousand rounds. I’m not lining up to buy 36 of them, but so far they’ve been good.
I bought 2x Glock 17 mags, one crapped out right away the other a few weeks later. Issues with the springs, the slide not locking back and in an AR15 in 9mm the bolt not locking back.
I waited a while after they first came out and there was no negative press or comments about them so I bought them. I am very hesitant to buy the MP5 versions. But I might try one of the 10 rounders to use at the range. I won’t bet my life on one.
When I got the magazines I thought they looked and felt cheap. Not like the quality of a Magpul or Lancer for instance. The spring steel also felt cheap and inferior(soft), in one mag it twisted in a weird way and rendered the mag useless. The follower plastic also felt cheap and brittle.
I had 3 of their G22 mags, couldn’t get them to feed correctly at all. They sent 3 mroe and between the 6, couldn’t get any of them to feed reliably for any length of time.
I have a 7 round and a 9 round G43 mag that are flawless.
Does anyone have any experience or knowledge of their MP5 mags?
I should have added to the above that my experiences have been solid with the ETS Glock magazines, but I have only ever used them in my Pistol Caliber Carbines (PCC). I have no time with them aside from a mag or so from a G17. I use regular Glock mags for my Glocks.
I have one of their AR mags with the tritium follower. I have not experienced any issues other than how difficult it is to lock into the receiver.
Because of that, I only have 1, but use it as the primary in-weapon mag, with pmags for reloads, which lock without effort
I have three of their 27-round 9mm Glock mags for USPSA. Been very disappointed in their performance. All three have, at various points, jammed, and each has had a broken follower. ETS replaced all three followers, but I don’t trust their mags outside of plinking and friendly competition.
