SureFire Launches New 1,000 Lumen Scout Light

Fountain Valley, CA—SureFire, LLC, manufacturer of the world’s finest—and most innovative—illumination tools and tactical products, is proud to announce the launch of the all new M600U Scout Light. The M600U Scout Light is a lightweight weaponlight featuring an ultra-high-output LED that delivers 1,000 lumens of blinding white light. A proprietary TIR lens shapes the recoil-proof LED’s light into a beam with plenty of reach but enough surround light to accommodate peripheral vision, making the M600U ideal for medium to longer range applications. The rugged M600U attaches quickly and securely to any MIL-STD-1913 rail via its integral thumbscrew clamp. Constructed of lightweight aerospace aluminum, Mil-Spec Hard Anodized finish, and O-ring sealed to keep out the elements, the tough M600U will endure combat-like conditions without any sacrifice in weapon maneuverability.

Wait, so why would I want to run this when the M600DF does 1200 lumens on CR123s and 1500 on a rechargeable—all in what looks like the exact same body?

    • Geoff says:

Good points but it does look like its the standard, old style scout body, not the slightly wider diameter body the DF uses.

    • Casey says:

I wondered the same thing. I’m just glad SF didn’t try to pull a fast one and release this model first, then turn around and drop the M600DF six months later and force early adopters to upgrade all over again.

This is curious. Can someone in the know chime in and let me know what I’m missing.

    Scout 600-U = 1000 Lumens. 2x CR123 Battery, 1.25hr run time.

    X300-U-B = 1000 Lumens. 1x CR123 Battery, 1.25hr run time.

Why is this product using a dual battery tube? Durability and style aside, What does that extra battery offer that the X300 does not have?

Put a different way, why is this not a single battery (300 series) scout? Or a longer run time?
