GRINNELL, Iowa (December 13, 2018) – Just in time for Christmas, Brownells is offering up the perfect gift for that hard-to-shop-for someone who has everything – Bulk Barrels of Ammo in 5.56 and 7.62X51.

Filled to the brim with either 12,500 rounds of XM855 5.56mm NATO, or 7,500 rounds of XM80 7.62X51 NATO ammunition, the metal Bulk Barrels are painted an attractive, eye-catching shade of yellow and sport a patriotic image of a majestic American bald eagle soaring on outstretched wings, its talons fully extended.

Perfect for use in AR-15-style firearms – often referred to as “America’s Rifle” – the 12,500- round barrel of 5.56 can fill 416 standard-capacity, 30-round magazines all the way up to the very tip top, with 20 rounds still left over.

For shooters who enjoy 30-caliber-power, the 7,500-round barrel of XM80 7.62X51 can jam- pack 375 standard-capacity 20-round magazines for full-size battle rifles like the M14, G3 or FAL – also known as the “Right Arm of the Free World.”

12500 rounds of XM855? That’s no good at indoor ranges or outdoors on steel. Guess I’ll have to pass.

or see if I can sneak it past the wife and stash it in the basement somewhere, you know, for reasons. LOL

    • Bobby Denard says:

AR500 steel will eat XM855 for breakfast at 100 meter, or even less if shooting out of a SBR.

Velocity, not a steel core penetrator, is what tears up steel targets. XM193, with it’s higher velocity, is worse on steel than green tip.

      • Ray Forest says:

Yep . 855 is also made from a multi component bullets that actually breaks apart a little easier on hardened steel. It was designed to penetrate mild steel. Everyone freaks out about it by all means do you own testing and observation of the impacts from 855, 193, and 262.

I believe you are thinking M855A1

  2. BillC says:

That’s still not a good price per round.

  3. Seamus says:

If this was for M855A1 then it would sell like hot cakes. I am not sure, why that round is so hard to get, considering it isn’t even AP. Brown ells, if you are reading this, please find a way to get civilians M855A1 and M80A1 and in bulk no less. You will make so much $$$$!!!

    Merry Christmas everyone!
