Ask SSD – Can You Identify This Badge?

No, I can’t. It’s a combination of the US Military Free Fall qualification badge along with some elements of the German Army’s Heeresbergführer insignia, but I’ve never seen it before.

Any ideas readers?

Looks like a modified German Mountaineering School pin which just had the,
Edelweiss flower, the C.O. gave me one when I visited in Mittenwald, Bavaria.
A very fine outfit. They may send people to Yuma also, thru the schoolhouse.

I believe this is the badge of Horshack’s unit. Him and his TL wear them when they are crashing doors, so I’ve been told…
