Sneak Peak – MODTAC Insulated Handguard

Modern Tactical Creations was founded by two SF NCOs to create solutions to problems found at the operator and team level. We’ve mentioned a few of their products including the Suppressor Shield.

They are currently working on an insulated Handguard which is an extension of their Suppressor Shield.

It is a carbon fiber construction which will minimize mirage, cool the barrel naturally, and protect the operator.

    how does it mount?

This is currently a proof of concept design that incorporates a carbon fiber forend and a quick disconnect/connect Suppressor Shield attachment.

Standard attachment (barrel nut) to the upper receiver.

This carbon fiber forend couples to our Suppressor Shield via a quick attach/detach system.

It attaches to the weapon system via a free float barrel nut. Currently this system is a proof of concept prototype.

The Modtac can cover is a great piece of equipment. I recently ordered mine and was very impressed with the companies customer service and the overall quality of the product. if you order it correctly for your device the installation is a breeze and it works very well. ive gone through several other companies version of can wraps, all of them have failed.. this one and the SF one are the only two that havnt.. and this one weighs less and is customizable for different cans, unlike the SF one.

I wish I could get something like this to replace the Seekins handguard on my Gemtech Integra. That thing gets blazing hot after a few rounds.
