Warfighter Countdown – Outdoor Research

The Warrior West Expo by ADS is just two short weeks away, at San Diego’s Convention Center.

One company you need to check out is Outdoor Research and their Three Glove Cold Weather Glove System. Like the name says, it consists of three pieces of handwear and was adopted a few years ago as the Army Glove System as an interim solution until the Army’s upcoming Modular Glove System is selected and fielded next year.

The mitts are manufactured using fully seam taped Gore-Tex fabric, while the glove uses a Gore-Tex liner, making them all both Waterproof and Windproof.

The components are:

AGS Firebrand Mitt (includes Removable Insulated Liner)

• Extreme Cold Patrol Mitts
• Pile Fleece Liner and Synthetic Insulation
• Goat Leather Palm
• Compression-Resistant Warmth
• MonoCinch Gauntlet Closure
• Removable Wrist Cord
• Velcro Hook and loop Closure on Removable Liner

AGS Firebrand Trigger Finger Mitt

• Cold Patrol Mitts w/ Trigger Finger Design
• Pile Fleece Liner and Synthetic Insulation

Hey Eric, is OR no longer manufacturing in Seattle? Or did they refocus that production line on other goods?

  2. TominVA says:

Looks like a pretty complete solution. OR’s in a solid spot to capture the new system award. A new facility in SOCAL makes them very attractive too. Who’s the competition. Do we know?
