Classic. The “do as I say, not as I do” routine. Virginia is in the middle of striping the constitutional rights of its citizens, while providing the same arms to its police force.

there is nothing special about these that is inherent to LE, they are just cheap no frills, milspec and lightweight, with a different set of serial numbers. It is basically a contract overrun M4 with a different barrel (midlength gas on 16″) and an m-lok handguard. the commercial market wants better guns than this, and they know it

I don’t think his point of impact relates to whether it is intended specifically for LE or not but that Virginia lawmakers want to essentially confiscate the very same firearm that Virginia businesses are creating. “Do as I say, not as I do” and all. As for inherent to LE…most companies who cater to LE marketing fail miserably at the reality of LE being civilians. FTR, I know a SO who has hired Dishonorably Discharged veterans, kept Deputies who have had warrants issued for felonies against them, allowed restricted firearms to go home with Deputies amongst many other things that make somebody say ‘da fuq?’.

        ^ This.

Give me one of the Tac II line guns any day of the week.

There is one thing special,11.5. We as citizens cannot readily purchase this without a years wait plus. There should be no firearm readily available to any judicial force before the populace has the ability to purchase. Franklin wrote “Those who would give up essential Liberty, to purchase a little temporary Safety, deserve neither Liberty nor safety”
