Defense Mechanisms – Helion Jacket

The Helion is a lightweight insulated jacket that provides breathable warmth and moderate weather resistance. Designed to be worn in a stand-alone manner, or as a mid-layer with a wet weather protective shell. The face fabric is durable and wind resistant, while a hard fleece panel at the underarms aides in breathability and helps prevent the user from overheating during strenuous activity.

Features:

2 Ounces of Climashield APEX insulation performs better than down in wet and humid conditions, dries quickly, packs small, and is easy to clean

Raglan style sleeves for increased comfort and range of motion

A drop tail keeps the low back covered during strenuous movements

Durable Lightweight nylon fabric has a DWR finish

Large, insulated, zippered hand pockets allow access when wearing a plate carrier and/or duty belt

Polartec hard faced fleece sides allow for better ventilation when worn under Personal Protective Equipment, and stretch to enable easier clearing of the cover garment when the jacket is zipped

Athletic fit for layering under shells and PPE

Locking YKK zipper prevents self-opening during movement

Polartec Power stretch cuffs

Optional Velcro Loop on sleeves

Very similar to Arcteryx LEAF Atom LT?

Why is it that more tactical jackets don’t come with zip sides? I would love to wear something like this for work, however it would cover my duty gear.

    • Richie says:

They hand make custom versions of these too, I’m sure you can ask for additional zippers

I’m not in the market for a new jacket, but damn that’s a really nice looking jacket…
