Aimpoint’s Nano Sight Available As Component of B&T’s Universal Service Weapon

Wednesday, March 1st, 2017

Last year we mentioned the upcoming Nano red-dot weapon sight from Aimpoint. We were hoping it would be released at SHOT Show but when we asked the crew manning the Aimpoint booth, they suggested we check out Brügger & Thomet, down in the basement. Sure enough, it was there but the weapon it was mounted to, hasn’t seemed to resonate with the American market. Perhaps it’s the folding stock on a pistol that has so many scratching their heads. But now, we’re at Enforce Tac, a European Security Show and the B&T USW has generated quite a bit of interest.

The USW is duty pistol size but intended to offer a more stable platform to police and security forces. It features a DA/SA trigger and ambi decocking lever. Additionally, the mag release can be configured left or right.

Interestingly, the Nano stays put on the bridge of the receiver and doesn’t reciprocate on the slide. They’ve also incorporate charging ears on the slide to help with racking the slide.

The Nano comes standard on the B&T USW, and so far, that’s the only way you’re going to get one. The UsW also comes equipped with a side folding stock, level 3 retention holster, 3 magazines (17, 19, and 30 round) single point sling, cleaning kit, transportation box and a B&T Advanced Pistol Light which is made by Inforce. In fact, the only option is for a suppressor.

Aimpoint – 3X-C Magnifier Now Available

Friday, October 21st, 2016

The new Aimpoint 3X-C Magnifier, which debuted at SHOT Show is now shipping to dealers.

Developed for the civilian end user, the 3X-C can be used in conjunction with all Aimpoint sights for long-range aiming or observation. Additionally, a variable (-2 to +2) dioptric setting allows this magnifier to be adapted to the individual shooter’s eye.

The 3X-C can also be used as a handheld 3X monocular. Aimpoint magnifiers utilize the red dot in Aimpoint sights as the aiming reticle, eliminating the need for re-zeroing when shifting between non-magnified and magnified aiming.
The 3X-C is encased in a shock absorbing protective rubber cover that also creates an ideal ergonomic grip. Internal optical adjustments make aligning the magnifier and sight quick and easy.

MSRP: $307.00

Look for the Magnifier from these great dealers:
LaRue
Strohman
Telluric Group
G&R Tactical
Clyde Armory
Green Top Sporting Goods
Brownells
Aim Surplus
Birmingham Pistol Club

The other magnifiers released during SHOT are coming soon.

Reportedly, it is a AAA battery powered variant from Aimpoint. Said to be a downsized M4 with T2 capabilities, the battery choice is to make logistics easier on agencies like DSS which operate in remote locations and may have difficulty sourcing the 2032 battery.

Sneak Peek – Aimpoint Nano

Tuesday, June 28th, 2016

French company TR Equipement leaked a photo of the upcoming Aimpoint Nano in their website in an article on the Brügger & Thomet USW, a new shoulderable pistol with folding stock from the Swiss company, introduced in the wake of last year’s Paris attacks. The SA/DA 9mm USW A1, based in the aluminum framed CZ 75, will be available this November, while a striker fired polymer variant is expected next year. The Nano MRDS from Aimpoint should debut during The 2017 SHOT Show.

The pictured Aimpoint Nano has been under development for the past couple of years, but even this photo is only of a prototype and is not the final product so we’ll have to wait until then for details.

Update : Below is the holster offered with the system which incorporates a shroud for the Nano.

Post SHOT Show Wrapup – Aimpoint Magnifiers

Tuesday, January 26th, 2016

During FirstSpear’s Range Day, we ran across Aimpoint’s new magnifiers.  Below is the Aimpont press release which offers additional information but we’d like to clarify something we put out last week.  Turns out there are professional grade magnifiers in both 3x and 6x versions while the commercial variant is only offered in a 3x model.
Las Vegas, NV – January 19, 2016 – Aimpoint, the originator and worldwide leader in electronic red-dot sighting technology, has announced the addition of three new accessory magnifiers to their product line. Designed to work in conjunction with the company’s electronic reflex sights, these new magnifiers are being offered in 3X and 6X magnification, in both a standard grade for use by civilian shooters, as well as professional grade models.

The new Aimpoint magnifiers feature diopter adjustment, allowing each optic to be individually adapted to the operator’s eye. All are protected by shock absorbing protective rubber covers that also provide an ergonomic grip surface. The Aimpoint magnifiers may be used with the company’s quick-detach TwistMount™, or with the newly launched Aimpoint® FlipMount which allows the magnifier to be quickly flipped in or out of the optical axis, or removed from the firearm completely.

“These magnifiers open up some interesting new opportunities for users of Aimpoint sights.” said Matt Swenson, VP of Sales at Aimpoint Inc. “Our standard grade 3X-C is a great magnifier at a very reasonable price point. On the professional side, the Aimpoint 6XMag offers 50% more magnification than existing US military combat optics, and allows an operator to quickly transition back to their non-magnified Micro T-2 sight for CQB.”
