Safariland Adopts ULTRAcomp High Performance Laminate

Tuesday, November 22nd, 2016

SAVANNAH, GA- November 16, 2016- Blue Force Gear®, announced today that it has reached an agreement with The Safariland Group to license Blue Force Gear’s ULTRAcomp® high-performance laminate as a part of Safariland’s ever growing opportunities to offer customers the best products in the industry, seen in Safariland Armor.

“The Safariland Group shares our passion for helping the good guys make it home safe,” said Ashley Burnsed, founder and CEO of Blue Force Gear. “We are extremely happy to work with them.”

Safariland Armor has begun incorporating ULTRAcomp® into its new line of V1 overt external carriers, which were introduced at the 2016 SHOT Show held in Las Vegas, NV. “ULTRAcomp is the best combination of strength, quality and comfort,” said Tim O’Brien, Category Director of Soft Armor. “It was an easy choice when Safariland was selecting the best material for our armor systems to pair it with ULTRAcomp.”

Blue Force Gear has attained the perfect blend of art and science to create a truly unique material – ULTRAcomp®. ULTRAcomp® combines the properties of a rubber-based laminate – resistance to tear, abrasion, water, bacteria and fungus – with a Cordura® fabric facing for color or pattern and reduced IR signature. This is a case where the sum is greater than its parts. The combined strength of the two materials becoming one allows Blue Force Gear to push the limits on weight savings while exceeding established standards of strength and durability.

New Pouches from Blue Force Gear

Wednesday, August 31st, 2016

We’ve given you previews of all three of these new pouches over the last few months and now they are all available from our friends at Blue Force Gear. They are offered in Coyote, OD, Wolf and MultiCam.

Blue Force Gear announces three new additions to its line of tactical pouches. Focusing on the need of essentials during mission-critical situations, the new additions include the Medium Dump Pouch to serve as a larger version of the company’s Ultralight Dump Pouch, the Water Bottle Pouch, designed around water as a necessity, and the SAW Pouch which can be used as a universal utility pouch.

The Medium Dump Pouch is a larger dump pouch that is able to be stowed and was designed for extended overt use. A “fish trap” style flap at the top allows magazines and other items to be immediately stowed, but offers additional security over traditional open top dump pouches. This added security keeps all items stowed when going to prone or getting in or out of vehicles.

The Water Pouch is a lightweight pouch that can hold a 1-liter Nalgene® bottle or a 1-quart canteen. Hydration is essential regardless of your area of responsibility. The Water Bottle Pouch allows you to have water in a convenient, accessible location on your battle belt, vest, armor carrier or on the side of packs.

The SAW Pouch was designed to hold a 200-round M249 SAW drum, but is a great all-around utility pouch. Noticeably different from any other pouch in the Helium Whisper® line, the body of the pouch is constructed of ULTRAcomp™. This allows the pouch to keep its shape better than ballistic nylon and also offers greater wear and abrasion resistance, especially helpful when holding items with sharp edges or corners.

These pouches are available now through Blue Force Gear.

Blue Force Gear Receives Patent

Friday, August 26th, 2016

SAVANNAH, GA-August 10, 2016- Blue Force Gear®, a growing design and manufacturing company in the firearms accessories industry, announces that it has been granted its second US patent for the Helium Whisper® load carrier system and associated manufacturing methods. US patent 9,295,319 embodies the ability for a load carrier system to include a unitary piece of material.

The patent covers two embodiments of the load carriage system. One of which pertains to the unitary piece of material, and the other being the benefits through manufacturing methods of Helium Whisper®.

Helium Whisper® revolutionizes the MOLLE attachment system by combining a single piece back panel with ULTRAcomp®, an extremely durable, lightweight high-performance proprietary laminate. By reducing the number of parts involved in MOLLE attachment, the single-piece design decreases potential errors and weak points, provides easier production and offers a lighter alternative to any other pouch system.

“Blue Force Gear continues to innovate as the leader in the production of lightweight gear,” says CEO Ashley Burnsed. “For more than two decades the primary health threat to troops has been common joint, muscle and bone injuries including back pain. The average load carried by a Rifleman can be in excess of 127 pounds. Blue Force Gear celebrates every ounce of weight reduction because ounces equal pounds, and our pouches built with the Helium Whisper® system can reduce weight by up to 60 percent, making our service members lighter, faster and quite possibly healthier.”

This patent solidifies Helium Whisper® as a true innovation in lightweight attachment systems. In addition to Blue Force Gear’s products, the Helium Whisper® attachment system is in wide use by manufacturers such as SAFARILAND Group, Velocity Systems, Platatac and Strategen who license the technology from Blue Force Gear directly.

Blue Force Gear – Belt-Mounted Double Pistol Magazine Pouch

Monday, August 8th, 2016

Made from a combination of ULTRAcomp and the same elastic material as the popular 10-Speed mag pouch, BFG’s Belt-Mounted Double Pistol Magazine Pouch uses a hook and loop closure system to attach to belts up to 2 inches wide vertically, or belts 1.25 inches wide horizontally.

Holds two single or double stack magazine up to and including the HK45 or USP magazine, lights, multi-tools, or other similar-sized items and better yet, it has no sharp edges or hard corners, making for comfortable all-day carry and allowing the pouch to lay flat when the mag is removed.

Blue Force Gear – Standard AK Sling

Monday, August 1st, 2016

If you’re looking for an AK Sling, we can’t think of a better option than Blue Force Gear’s Standard AK Sling which includes a Molded Universal Wire Loop threaded onto the front of the sling. The UWL’s nylon coated aircraft grade stainless steel cable allows it to attach to the elongated eyelet on the handguard retainer or gas block quietly and securely.

Fits AK-47, AK-74, or other AKM style rifles with front sling loops. The sling can be instantly lengthened and shortened with no sling tail to get caught or parts to break, allowing for close, secure weapon retention that can be carried all day, but instantly lengthened to be shouldered and fired without removing the weapon or untangling the sling.

As a tribute to the famed Russian “plum” furniture and magazines of the late 1980s, the plum hardware on OD Green and Coyote Brown slings are limited editions. There is also a Black model with standard hardware.
