Designed by Hampton Roads local Tom Stokes, the Iota from CRKT allows you to open a can and eat the contents. Nothing crazy here guys, it’s a straight forward design, that includes spark, can opener, bottle opener and ¼” wrench. Made from 2Cr13 Stainless Steel, the Iota is just over 3″ long and available in Silver or Black.

Although it’s been around awhile, the Hoist’N Lok Tree Stand Hoist is pretty cool. Created by knife designer and professional hunting guide Russ Kommer, the hoist allows the hunter to get the stand up the tree while the hunter remains safely in the ground. The Tree Stand Hoist mounts easily around the tree with a heavy duty nylon strap and ratchet. Angled prongs sit against the tree to prevent the hoist from shifting and slipping after you’ve secured it. The Hoist’N Lok Tree Stand Hoist is rated to haul capacity of 100 pounds, yet it’s lightweight and portable at just over 1.5 pounds.
They’ve also adapted the hoist for use with Big Game.
We ran across three great surprises in the CRKT booth at OR Summer Market. Designed by world-record speed climber of The Nose on El Capitan Hans Florine, these blades are lightweight and can be opened one-handed.

Designed by Trip Felton, the Hook & Loop Tool is my favorite new product at Blade Show. Why? Because literally everyone who reads SSD uses hook & loop, whether it’s Velcro brand or an alternative, on their kit, and it gets dirty!
The folding Hook & Loop Tool features a wire brush for the hook, removable nylon brush for the loop which also can be used to clear the wire brush side as well as a boot pick to clean out your tread.
RMJ Tactical’s Ryan Johnson told us he has a little help in creating some of his designs. Take for instance the upcoming No Bother from CRKT.
Like me, Ryan does a lot with his kids. He told me that one day he and his daughter were out and she sketched a neck knife design out and wrote “No Bother” under it. Ryan asked her what that was about and she said, dead pan, “no one is going to bother you when you have this.” The name stuck along with the overall design.
This full tang neck knife is made from 8Cr13MoV with a 2.1″ blade and overall length of 5.29″ with a non-reflective, black oxide stone wash finish and a reverse tanto tip. Thanks to the non-removable ABS scales it only weights 2.2 oz.
The sheath can be worn several ways including around the neck via Paracord with integrated release safety fob to avoid choking as well as attached to PALS webbing. The sheath retains the blade even when tip up.

CRKT introduced two new Ryan Johnson Tomahawk designs at SHOT Show, the Woods Chogan and Kangee T-Hawks.
You probably know Ryan Johnson from his own RMJ Tactical. He’s done a couple of designs for them in the past such as last year’s Chogan and Kangee T-Hawks that differ from these new models because of handle material. Weighing in at 2 lbs, 1.4 oz, these new Woods versions feature a 19.13″ long handle of Tennessee hickory, sealed with lacquer.
The heads of both models are made from 1055 steel and measure just over 4″. The Chogan offers a Hammer, while the Kangee incorporates a Spike on the head.
You see survival bracelets made from 550 cord everywhere these days so it takes something a little different to catch my eye. The new PARA-SAW Survival Bracelet from CRKT did just that. In addition to a tungsten carbide coated stainless steel wire saw concealed in a plastic sleeve that is woven into the bracelet’s 550 cord, CRKT has introduced 4 Stokes Paracord Bracelet Accessories.
The accessories can be slid unto most bracelet configurations and combine various capabilities including Compass & LED, Compass & Fire Starter, Bottle Opener and the LED-Compass & Fire Starter model seen below.

CRKT introduced four new model for Blade Show 2013. Three are from Brian Tighe and the fourth is the creation of Matthew Lerch.
From top to bottom we have the Tighe Coon, Tighe Dye and Tighe Rod. Below is Matthew Lerch’s Moxie. Matthew’s Endorser was released at SHOT Show is under consideration for the best value at this year’s Blade Show.
Look for all of these new models to be available in 6-8 weeks.
