Detonation Technology – Mini Breakaway Pulley

The Mini Breakaway Pulley from Detonation Technology allows an EOD Tech to create a change in direction during a remote pull. A breakaway pulley can reduce the number of approaches that have to be made when remotely moving an improvised explosive device. The Mini Breakaway Pulley is small, measuring 3″x1″x.5″; light weight, at 2.5oz; and durable, being made entirely from Stainless Steel and Delrin. The breakaway action is triggered by a knot in the line, no additional parts needed. The pulley is built to use line between 5/64″ and 1/8″ (2-3 mm).

Detonation Technology – STS-6 Shock Tube System

Thursday, June 16th, 2016

Setting a breach is inevitably the moment when shock tube turns against you. For a small interior breach shock tube (or NONEL) is manageable, only needing to be 12′ or 15′ long. But when large wall charges and EOD energetic tools are needed that standoff isn’t enough, and 75′ of shock tube can make an impressive rats nest.

Enter the Detonation Technology STS-6. The shock tube is spun on a collapsing mandrel in a hand held drill, then the clam shell case is snapped on and the mandrel is removed. An M-81 or other igniter is attached to the outside, and the “live” end spools out from the middle. It is virtually impossible to get tangled.

Detonation Technology – Carbon Fiber Sickle Stick

Tuesday, April 19th, 2016

We got to check out the new carbon fiber version of Detonation Technology’s Sickle Stick earlier this month at Marine South.

In addition to the folding sickle blade, other tool heads can be attached to the stick.  It is most often used to drag across the ground feeling for disturbances associated with digging.  The collapsible pole stores at 2’6″ and extends to almost 14′.  Obviously, the carbon fiber is both light and strong allowing the user to use it to comfortably probe the ground or get a line attached on an object.

Detonation Technology – Folding Grappling Hooks

Friday, February 19th, 2016

The Detonation Technology DTGH-2 and 3 Grapples features tines that fold flat so it can be tucked out of the way in a pouch or pocket, then snap open with a twist of the wrist. There are no parts to thread together or lose. Additionally, the tines aren’t too low against the center of gravity making it more appropriate for CIED use as opposed to traditional climbing grappling hooks. As you can see below, the Grapple is quite compact.
