DRIFIRE’s NAVAIR Approved Flightsuits Available Through ADS inc

Tuesday, August 20th, 2013

DRIFIRE offers a two-piece flightsuit and combat shirt that are approved for use by NAVAIR. Designed to work together, these FR, performance garments are well suited to ground as well as air operations. I think LE organizations who face flame threats should check these out.

Like I said, these are performance FR garments. In addition to their FR properties, they are also anti-microbial and moisture wicking. As far as flight clothing go, the DRIFIRE garments fuse combat and flying features making them great options for Multi-seat aircraft such as cargo and rotary wing. Both garments are offered in Khaki as well as Sage.

Ardennes Combat Hoodie from Drifire

Friday, March 29th, 2013

This is Drifire’s Combat Hoodie, a component of their Ardennes Cold Weather System. I tried one on during last week’s Darley Defense GRF Expo in Fayetteville and I didn’t want to give it back.

Drifire Ardennes Combat Hoodie

The Combat Hoodie can be worn in conjunction with other layers as well as next-to-skin and features mechanical stretch as well as integrated cuffs with thumb loops. Additionally, the four-piece hood offers a cross-over front and an innovative built-in balaclava/neck gaiter with tuck away option. The fabrics used are top notch. The drirelease technology dries four times faster than cotton and controls odor causing bacteria. And to top it off, it’s not just comfortable, the Combat Hoodie is also FR. The Combat Hoodie is paired with their Lightweight Fleece Pants as Layer 3 in their Ardennes Cold Weather System.

Drifire FR Undergarments

Tuesday, February 26th, 2013

I’ve been a big fan of Drifire for several years now. They manufacture FR performance garments that don’t feel like FR. In addition to FR baselayer protection, their garments also incorporate moisture wicking and antimicrobial odor control characteristics. These aren’t some wash in treatment either but rather exist at the fiber level so they won’t wash or wear out.

Drifire

Available in a variety of colors including Black, Coyote, Desert Tan and Olive Drab the line is offered in the full gamut of sizes from X-Small – XXX-Large.

This uniform, is a design concept for MARSOC of an FR combat garment (yes, thats Woodland Camo) featuring DRIFIRE’s Foretrex fabric. Not only is it FR, but it also incorporates Drifit’s moisture management and anti-microbial features. Recently developed, it’s an alternative to currently fielded FR materials.

Optimer Brands Announces CEO Search

Friday, July 20th, 2012

Optimer Brands, which includes DRIFIRE, makers of FR fabric technologies, is looking for a new CEO after Steven Scheyer recently announced his intent to step down.

Following continued significant growth in sales and product innovation over the past two and a half years, today Optimer Brands announced it has appointed a new Vice Chairman and is launching a search for a new Chief Executive Officer.

CEO Steven Scheyer has been named Vice Chairman, and continues as CEO during the search. After the new CEO joins, he remains as Vice Chairman and a key executive, owner and board member of the Company. This transition is part of the Company’s long-term succession plan that was put into place when Steven joined in 2010, and a strategic move to continue driving its growth and success into the company’s next phase.

Optimer Brands is the Company behind the DRIFIRE brand of flame resistant fabrics and flame resistant workwear, which has grown dramatically in the military and industrial sectors. Optimer has also achieved impressive growth with drirelease, patented fabric technology that enables brands to create unique apparel that dries four times faster than cotton, has everlasting wicking and odor control, and maintains the look and feel of natural fibers.

The Company has expanded beyond garments and fabrics into high performance finished goods. It has also developed broader reach beyond the military into the utility and the oil and gas sectors. Due to this complexity, Optimer aims to identify a CEO with a successful track record in operations and process.

“We have been very pleased with the Company’s growth over the past two and a half years, and are excited to be able to move to the next level in our growth plan. The current leadership team of CEO Steven Scheyer and Chairman Harvey Weinberg has grown Optimer Brands into the best financial position it has ever been in,” said Eric Becker, Senior Managing Director with private equity firm Sterling Partners. “With this new CEO, Sterling is reinvesting in the Company by bringing additional skills, experience and senior level expertise.”

“This focus on operations and process is the logical next step in the evolution of Optimer Brands,” said Scheyer. “We are confident this strategy is the right one for our continued future success.”

Weinberg added, “This transition has been planned since the beginning, and comes at a time of success and momentum for Optimer Brands. Our Company and our team have never been stronger.”

The search begins immediately, with the goal to secure the new CEO before the end of the year. Interested candidates should contact Nikki Bondi at executive search firm Advantage Partners.

DRIFIRE Fortrex Burn Test

Wednesday, July 18th, 2012

We saw this video at last week’s Warrior Expo East and we’re glad we can share it with you. It’s good to be able to show you what a burn test looks like. Fortrex is a performance FR material from DRIFIRE that also provides moisture management and antibacterial properties.
