IWI Feels the Difference with OSS

Millcreek, UT – OSS Suppressors LLC is proud to announce that IWI, the international firearm manufacturer of the innovative and legendary TAVOR®, X95® and GALIL® rifles has officially endorsed OSS and will carry our line of Helix products as one of their official suppressors.

0F84D280-D2EB-4116-A041-9D1CF0E8ED78

Extensive testing with the OSS products – including sound levels, flash suppression, and durability – preceded IWI’s decision.  A critical influence on their decision was how the OSS product did not affect the performance of IWI’s weapon systems.  For example, when tested with OSS suppressors, the TAVOR and X95 rifles produced some of the quietest decibel levels at the shooters ear IWI had seen.  They truly felt the difference.

OSS 5.56 and 7.62 IWI suppressors can now be purchased direct from IWI.  They come coated with custom dark grey, high-temperature C-Series Cerakote® and the IWI logo engraved on the can.

You can enter to win an IWI X95 and OSS suppressor as well as other gear by visiting IWI X95 Giveaway:

SHOT Show 2018 – IWI TS12

Saturday, January 27th, 2018

IMG_0465

The TS12 is a semi-auto bullpup shotgun and the first shotgun in the Tavor family of weapons. Chambered for 12 gauge shotshells, the TS12 features a 15+1 capacity (12+1 with 3″ shells), and, in a design that is somewhat reminiscent of the SRM Arms Model 1216, feeds from a rotating drum of three 5-round magazine tubes that must be manually cycled as one tube is expended. Being a bullpup shotgun, despite its 28″ overall length, it manages to house an 18.5″ barrel. A monolithic Picatinny top rail allows for the attachment of iron sights and/or optics, while M-LOK slots on the 3 and 9 o’clock positions of the forend allow for the attachment of accessories.

The TS12 features an ambidextrous design, with feed ramps placed on both the left and right of the weapon for loading shells into an empty mag tube, while the charging handle can be switched from the left to the right, with the use of a tool. A crossbolt safety is placed a bit above the pistol grip, which can also be reversed for left or right shooters, as can the ejection port.

IMG_0140

We had a bit of time with the TS12 at Range Day, and it’s a weapon that takes some getting used to, due to its design being a bit unique. Loading the tubes is simple: you load the shells into a mag tube, then depress a lever within the trigger guard (opposite the trigger) to unlock the drum to switch to a new tube. A round is automatically chambered when a fresh tube is switched to the top position. A button to the rear of the feed ramp can be depressed to eject shells from the mag tube. It’s a fairly hefty weapon with a large rubber buttpad, so it it absorbs recoil pretty well, and its semi-auto operation means you can throw a wall of lead down range pretty quickly, especially when you get used to transitioning to a new tube, after a bit of practice.

IWI US Is Phasing Out The Original Tavor SAR

Friday, September 29th, 2017

YUG1moW

With the release of the Tavor X95 and the favorable response of its ergonomic and functional improvements over the original Tavor SAR, one could wonder how IWI would handle having both rifles available in their product line. Well, in a not-so-surprising move, IWI US formally announced they are phasing the Tavor SAR out of their product line, citing a market preference towards the X95 that lead to declining sales of the SAR. This phasing out will occur over the coming months, with production shifting towards greater focus on the X95, as well as the Tavor 7, a Tavor variant chambered for .308 WIN.

IWI_1176_new_polymer_JERICHO

Ramat HaSharon, Israel, April 3, 2017. Israel Weapon Industries (IWI) – a leader in the production of combat-proven small arms for law enforcement agencies, governments, and armies around the world – will present for the first time the latest enhancements for the polymer-frame JERICHO pistol family, delivering superior ergonomics.

According to Shlomi Sabag, IWI’s CEO, “Following the JERICHO pistol family’s many years of success among police forces, law enforcement agencies, and military entities – in Israel and around the world – we decided to keep the renowned and exceptionally reliable mechanism unchanged, while implementing modifications to the polymer-frame JERICHO pistol in order to achieve outstanding ergonomics. This new generation pistol is specially designed according to the standards and needs of the modern user.”

Modifications include the addition of three (3) backstrap sizes – enabling adjustment according to palm size, the absence of finger grooves – allowing a more comfortable grip, and a rough grip texture – improving the pistol’s grip. The new model is available in both full and medium size, and in three (3) colors – black, green and FDE.

As the standard pistol of the Israeli Police and police departments around the world – the JERICHO pistol family provides remarkable performance and dependability. It is available in full-size, medium, and compact models, with either steel or polymer frames, and a slide or frame-mounted safety. Main features include a very reliable mechanism, integral lower Picatinny rail, round chamber indicator, single or traditional double action, and last round catch. Available in 3 calibers – 9mm, .40 S&W, and .45 ACP – the JERICHO complies with MIL-STD.

Sabag added, “We greatly appreciate the loyalty of JERICHO pistol users over the years, and believe that these new features will encourage new users to enjoy the extensive capabilities of the pistol.”

SHOT Show 17 – IWI Galil ACE Now Available In 5.56 Chambering

Saturday, January 21st, 2017

IMG_0156

This year, IWI has started to receive the 5.56 chambered variants of the AK-derived Galil ACE rifle, which will be offered in various configurations, including carbine, SBR, and pistol. While nothing massive has changed with the gun with this new caliber option, the 5.56 ACEs do have lightening cuts on the receiver, and a true bolt hold open mechanism, which is pretty nice.

IMG_0159

Oh, and they accept STANAG magazines, so your existing pile of PMAGs and GI mags will be good to go with this one.
