Beyond SOFIC – Mystery Ranch Introduces New IR Compliant Zippers For SPEAR Packs

Thursday, May 18th, 2017

Working with YKK, Mystery Ranch has introduced the first IR-Compliant Urethane Coated Water Resistant Chain. As you can see, they’re also color matched. This is a really big deal for the SPEAR pack program as Mystery Ranch pushes toward full IR-compliance.

In case you’re wondering about the Black pulls, it’s because they’re cast Zinc with Black Metal Oxide coating, which is much harder then the enamel paint on many color matched sliders. These zipper pulls last about six times longer than enamel coatings.

Monday, January 30th, 2017

Many people don’t know that Mystery Ranch makes SOCOM issued Flash Bang pouches. Both sizes are PALS compatible and the flaps can be tucked behind the grenade.

There’s the Flash Bang above and the Triple Bang below.  Yes, it’s often referred to in the field as the “gang bang”.

ORWM – Mystery Ranch Accessories

Thursday, January 12th, 2017

Here are two new accessories from Mystery Ranch I think SSD readers may be interested in.

First up is the Rain Cover with Hood. It’s pretty straight forward. MR figures that of you want to keep your pack dry, you might want to do the same with your head.

Offered in two sizes, 10 and 30 liters, these Dry Cells feature roll tops and sonic welded seams.

ORWM – Mystery Ranch

Tuesday, January 10th, 2017

This report on new items from Mystery Ranch Outdoor products, coming Fall 17. The military/tactical items will come next week at SHOT Show. Both of these are what I would consider commuter bags.

At 22 liters, the Rip Ruck is made from 420D Cordura in a mountain ruck style.  Look for a separate zippered pocket for a laptop next to the back along with a dual zipper main pocket and two smaller outer pockets which replicate the two-zipper styling.

The Slick is just that.  It’s a 23 liter pack made from ripstop nylon and features a dedicated, zippered, laptop compartment along with a main pocket with a half moon zippered opening.  On either side are slit pockets which will accept a water bottle.
