ORWM 18 – Dana Gleason Discovers The Wheel

Monday, January 29th, 2018

For years, customers have been asking Dana Gleason to introduce a wheeled bag. They’ve listened and answered the call. At OR, Mystery Ranch exhibited their new Mission Wheelies.

Offered in three sizes (42, 81, and 130 liters), they feature a tub design made from a laminate of EVA foam exterior and polycarbonate interior in order to withstand the stresses of airline travel. The fabric is 1000D Cordura with 915D HP Cordura at the base.

The Mission Wheelie incorporates an expandable dirty laundry bag at the top and a footwear bag at the bottom. In the interior, you’ll find four zippered mesh pockets for organization. Finally, there are four handles (one each side) to make handling easier.

Just a heads up. As part of the MR commercial line, these are made in the Philippines.

Offered in Black and Coyote.

Mystery Ranch Blackjack Series

Wednesday, January 10th, 2018

Mystery Ranch is introducing their new Blackjack series of packs. With 3 sizes, 50, 80 and 100 liters, these packs cover the gamut of larger military load carriage needs. The Blackjack packs are the commercially available versions of the standard-issue USSOCOM SPEAR packs.

All Blackjack series packs use MR’s new lightweight frame that features a Dyneema-Cordura laminate over full-carbon frame stays, stowable waist belt and lighter, smaller bolsters for stability over armor. The packs themselves all feature new IR-compliant, water-repellent YKK zippers and 500D Cordura fabric treated with a Teflon face coating and a tough polyurethane back coating. All 3 packs are top-loaders with removable lids, side access zippers and a port for radio or hydration access. The Blackjack 50 has two large front pockets, while the 80 has four total pockets, 1 large and 3 smaller. The Blackjack 100 is the same as the 80, but adds a sleep system compartment on the bottom.

Mystery Ranch believes the Crewcab is one of the most innovative and adaptable packs ever made.

Crew Cab with bot Profile

Born out of a unit’s need to haul ammo cans, this famous variable-capacity pack can collapse or expand to carry loads that vary dramatically in size, shape, and weight. At its smallest, the Crewcab is a low-profile, 1900 cu-in pack, but can be expanded out to carry more than 6000 cu in. It can carry EOD gear, Pelican cases, robots, MR Load Cells, ammo cans, even casevacs in a pinch. The CREWCAB excels at carrying weird loads.

As a NICE framed pack, the Crewcab can haul the biggest loads in comfort. The NICE frame’s adjustable Futura yoke and lumbar wrap system —a three-dimensionally shaped belt— make sure you get a custom fit for any body type.

Beyond SOFIC – Mystery Ranch Introduces New IR Compliant Zippers For SPEAR Packs

Thursday, May 18th, 2017

Working with YKK, Mystery Ranch has introduced the first IR-Compliant Urethane Coated Water Resistant Chain. As you can see, they’re also color matched. This is a really big deal for the SPEAR pack program as Mystery Ranch pushes toward full IR-compliance.

In case you’re wondering about the Black pulls, it’s because they’re cast Zinc with Black Metal Oxide coating, which is much harder then the enamel paint on many color matched sliders. These zipper pulls last about six times longer than enamel coatings.

You Never Know Where They’ll Show Up
