Grey Ghost Gear Teams Up With Noveske Rifle Works

Wednesday, June 25th, 2014

Two great brands making things happen together. I like it.

Dalton Gardens ID 23 June 14 – How do you determine the value of badass? Can it be reckoned, or is it incalculable?

You’re about to find out.

Grey Ghost Gear (which is bad ass) has teamed up with Noveske (which is equally bad ass). How bad ass is that?

Noveske+GGG=BadassSquared1

Effective immediately, Grey Ghost Gear will be carrying Noveske uppers and soon you’ll be seeing complete rifles.

Asked to give some background to the relationship between the two innovative companies, GGG Despotrix-in-Charge Lindsey Lea advises, “The love story began with my very first SHOT Show ever. That’s where I met John and Sheri. We’ve been friends since then and now that that Grey Ghost has decided to carry weapons, Noveske was the obvious choice—both out of our respect for John and of course for the obvious fact that they’re superb rifles.”

Buyers will see a Noveske tab on the Grey Ghost website from which to choose from a variety of Noveske models, including the Infidel, Rogue Hunter in 16” and 18”, some of the 10” uppers in both 5.56 and 300BLK and others.

Noveske Rifle Works’ Sheri Johson echoes Lea’s sentiment. “The people at Grey Ghost Gear are some of the best I know, really,” Sheri says. I’ve been a fan forever. When they came to me about high quality AR parts…well, it was obvious we were going to do it.”

Rumor has it Grey Ghost Gear may reciprocate by building a Noveske-specific line of gear like concealed carry messenger bags, a 3-gun setup and the like. You’ll want to watch for that.

Fans of both GGG and Noveske are also well advised to keep an eye on both companies’ social media. There will be a joint giveaway soon involving both Facebook pages and possibly Instagram—prizes will be Noveske uppers and GGG goodness.

Grey Ghost Gear + Noveske……badass

Additional info exclusive to SSD

Grey Ghost Gear DOES already have their FFL, that’s was accomplished Wednesday of last week – so there WILL be full Noveske rifles carried on the GGG website.

Sheri Johnson from Noveske is talking to Lindsey Lea from GGG about GGG building them their own soft good series; that is going to happen, they’re just trying to decide what and when.

“Badass Squared” morale patches will soon be available.

GGG and Noveske will be giving away five (5) uppers jointly between their Facebook pages over Independence Day weekend. This was hinted at in the press release, but that’s the actual number and date. IF POSSIBLE (not confirmed yet) one of them will be signed by the entire Noveske shooting team.

FS Noveske Discreet Pack

In this week’s FirstSpear Friday Focus we cover one of my favorite products, the Noveske Discreet Backpack. Developed in conjunction with Noveske Rifleworks, this discreet pack is camouflage for your carbine. Overall, the appearance belies the true intent of the bag.

The Noveske Discreet Backpack will accommodate an SBR, subgun or broken down rifle. It also integrates a large beavertail in the front of the pack for jackets and other items and offers daisy chain down both sides.

Additionally, they’ve ingeniously incorporated the Noveske cross design into the padding on the back.

The shoulder straps are padded for comfortable carry.

Padded Shoulder Straps

When you open it up, it’s got two straps to keep your gun in place.

Additionally, there’s a barrel muzzle shroud.

I’m a fan of the color combos used offered with this pack. You’ve got Black/Coyote/Ranger Green and Grey/Brown/Rust. I’ve also seen a Black/Red variant that is also mentioned in the video.

Johnny PMAGs Still Available Through Grey Ghost

Wednesday, January 8th, 2014

Limited numbers of these magazines are still available for those who want to support John’s kids.

During SHOT Show Drake Clark reached me about helping out with an upcoming project. John Noveske had just passed away and Magpul was going to commit to a run of special “Johnny” PMAGs to raise money for his family. He asked if I would help. While I had only met John once through the introduction of Stickman, we had quite a few friends in common. And, I appreciated his hard work and innovation. “Sure,” I told Drake, “count me in!”

Now, I know some of you guys are asking yourselves why the family of a guy who owned a business would need money. Well, my answer is simple. It’s for his kids. Very, very few small business owners are rich, or even well off. They work insane hours and put everything extra back into the business. And now, in the case of Noveske Rifleworks, John – the creative force behind the brand, is gone. It will never be the same and the lives of his kids will never be the same. As a father and small business owner, I can tell you, none of this was lost on me. It’s the reason I agreed to be a part of this and a reason I purchased some of these magazines when they were first available.

Now mind you, all of this planning for the Johnny mag was going on during the panic of 2013. Despite this, Magpul came through with the initial push which they offered in conjunction with Noveske. And then, another tragedy struck, and a similar magazine-based fundraising campaign came along. And during that period, in late Spring, 300 Johnny PMAGs showed up at my door. When I was planning to start this fundraising effort, I foolishly thought I could offer them through PayPal, but I soon found out that wasn’t possible. Then, eBay was a bust. SSD has a long reach but what we don’t have is a web store. Once the other fundraising effort ended I reached out to my friends at Grey Ghost Gear and they thankfully agreed to handle the sales aspect of this effort.

If you missed out on the initial run of Johnny mags, Grey Ghost has just under 300 (they are selling already). The Johnny PMAG is a Magpul GEN M2 30 round PMAG designed for 5.56×45 NATO and .223 Remington AR15/ M4 platform weapons. This memorial magazine includes the Noveske “Flaming Pig” on one side, and the Noveske logo on the flip side.

Noveske Pack

Thursday, May 23rd, 2013

20130522-220256.jpg

Manufactured by FirstSpear for Noveske Rifle Works, the Noveske Backpack is a concealed carry design. Above and just below you can see the Grey/Dark Brown/Rust model.

20130522-223559.jpg

The Noveske Pack accommodates a completely assembled and loaded rifle 28″ or shorter. The backpack will also hold rifles with barrels up to 16″ if the upper and lower are separated. Additionally, it features padded shoulder straps as well as daisy chain and a beaver tail pocket to carry bulky items externally. One detail I really like is the low key, laser etched Noveske logo at the center of the bag. Some might be a little put off by the Rust accents along the back of the bag but they are against your back, and trust me, no one will ever say that this bag screams, “Gun!”

20130522-223047.jpg

The pack is also offered in Black / Earth, seen below.

Either color also comes with a Pig patch.
