Baton Rouge, La.—Lipsey’s, a nationally renowned firearms distributor, and combat veteran Larry Vickers, the face of the tactical firearms industry, have launched the third iteration of the popular “Vicker’s GLOCK.”

Beginning immediately, Lipsey’s is selling LAV serialized RTF2 framed GLOCK 17 and GLOCK 19 pistols in classic black. They come equipped with Wilson Combat sights, which now include an all new gold bead front. In addition, Larry Vickers again taps Tango Down to produce the extended mag release, slide catch, magazine base plates, grip plug with integral disassembly tool and allen wrench for rear sight adjustment.

This new Vickers Tactical Lipsey’s Exclusive GLOCK bolsters the tactical color triangle that also includes grey and flat dark earth with some added extras. Larry Vickers had this to say about this latest venture, “The most requested color for the Vickers GLOCKs from Lipsey’s is black by a wide margin. After careful consideration, we decided to mount a gold bead front sight with an otherwise black pistol. The combination is striking to say the least.”

This third rendition of Lipsey’s Exclusive Vickers GLOCKs continues to be the distributor’s centerpiece of tactical offerings. Vice President and Product Development Manager Jason Cloessner was as eager to add classic black to the fold. “The LAV GLOCK series is one of our most requested products. Adding classic black to the lineup greatly enhanced the tactical color options that the Vickers GLOCK community was more than ready to support.”

Located in Baton Rouge, Lipsey’s was originally formed as a wholesale hunting and fishing distributor in 1953. Today, the company leads the firearms industry in the collaboration and distribution of exclusive firearms. An authority in NFA regulations, Lipsey’s also offers a robust line of silencers, short barrel rifles and accessories. With a committed focus on relationships, Lipsey’s provides value and innovation to federally licensed dealers and the industry’s top manufacturers.

Gunfighter Moment – Larry Vickers

Saturday, August 20th, 2016

I recently returned from a trip to Switzerland and after shooting with some friends I was once again reminded of two things; the AR-15/M4 and Glock handguns absolutely dominate in terms of sheer numbers being used each and everyday on ranges around the world. They are by far the most popular of their type and we live in the best time ever for both weapons. As you can guess I use and recommend BCM carbines as my first choice and for Glocks check out my Vickers Tactical editions available exclusively thru Lipseys. It’s in everyone’s best interest to know these two firearms as they are the industry benchmarks and will be for some time to come.

Be safe and shoot straight.

LAV out.

Gunfighter Moment – Larry Vickers

In your firearms training always have realistic accuracy standards. Remember that accuracy will generally suffer in the real world for reasons beyond your control as well as the unpredictable nature of most encounters. If you train for minimum accuracy standards on the range expect even less when bullets start going both ways.”

Gunfighter Moment – Larry Vickers

Saturday, June 25th, 2016

This GFM is a little different coming from me as I generally keep mine firearms related; this one is about awareness or tuning into the world we live in. This world is far different from the one I grew up in as a child – in some ways better; other worse. I turn 53 this month and I can tell you adapting to change and staying aware is a real challenge and as you get older is less and less fun. The old adage about teaching a dog new tricks applies here. Understand the Internet and social media has us all connected more than ever but also allows us to isolate ourselves more than ever – all at the same time. Bizarre but true.

Case in point a friend of mine recently got stung by PayPal for firearms related transactions and had his account frozen. He wasn’t selling guns but that didn’t matter – they still locked him down for a period of time. Those that know PayPal know they are extremely anti-gun. My buddy is embarrassed as he was clueless and admits he should have known better but I see it’s a byproduct of the strange Internet awareness, or lack thereof, world we live in. Do your best to stay switched on and tuned in – it’s for your own good. In more ways than one.

Gunfighter Moment – Larry Vickers

I just wrapped up the NRA show in Louisville KY and I gotta tell you I really enjoy meeting shooters and fans of my shows and products. A great time was had by all and it was especially important to me personally to see all the whole families and children visiting the show. I have been very fortunate to make a good living in the firearms industry and I remind myself regularly to treasure it and not take it for granted. Thanks once again to everyone who stopped by the Wilson Combat, Raven Concealment Systems, Aimpoint and Blue Force Gear booths while I was there to say hi. Be safe and I’ll keep driving on with training, shows and products. LAV out

Vickers Checks Out The AN-94

Monday, May 16th, 2016

Larry Vickers takes us through the 5.45x39mm AN-94.

This video includes the only known documented test of the 2 round burst dispersion of the AN-94. In two-shot burst mode, the AN-94’s Nikonov mechanism is designed to fire the second shot quickly enough to allow it to escape before the recoil of the first shot is felt.
