Here you can see the latest model of the French FAMAS (without SAGEM Sword for the FELIN system), with a fast access pouch on the stock. Also, check out the Woodland Safriland holster.

    Sucker looks bulky as hell.

you can’t polish a turd but you can roll it in glitter.

  3. Aaron says:

Having carried a FAMAS for seven months on exchange I enjoyed it. Except for the fact that F2s would spit out NATO ammo ever so often. The latest model that goes with the FELIN accepts STANAG Magazines and 5.56 NATO like a champ.

Also the fact that the front and rear iron sights were directly mounted to the barrel unlike an M4/M16 allows the shooter to pick it up and shoot accurately right away.

  4. Lawrence says:

The French Army is still planning to replace it with a more modern design though right?

  5. Steve says:

Completely unrelated to the FAMAS, but does the guy on the right have a tourniquet zip tied to his rig?

    • Reseremb says:

Yep, a SOF-TT, and not seems very secure. If he can’t afford a BFG Tourniquet Strap, maybe some Shrek’s Combat Bands will do the work.

  6. snmp says:

That’s FAMAS F1 infantry retrofit to FAMAS FELIN infantry without the SAGEM/Thales sight (Camera Day Night Thermal ….) but with remote control grip.

  7. Pascal says:

French SF are using HK416/417 mainly.
SCAR L/H is still in evaluation.
FAMAS Gen 2 (or Felin) is compatible with NATO SS109 or F5 ammunitions (7″ Beretta barrel).
