    o – o Nyeeeeeus? (So intrigued)

  2. Luke says:

New armor tech always gets me hot and bothered. keep us posted.

  3. Andrew says:

Sounds similar to the plate frame.

  4. Scott says:

Looks like a Multicam thermoformed foam plate carrier to me…

  5. Dan says:

This is surely the right direction. I hope this is the step forward in the combination of injection molding turning into armor composite injection molding in the future.. culminating in molded ballistic armor shaped for the individual……. many years in the future no doubt..

Not a whole lot to extrapolate from this picture. Although plates are not the most comfortable thing to wear even in nylon, rigid plate carriers are novel at best, however minimal they are. I personally would like to see a technology that forgoes hard armor and replaces it with a more flexible substrate that provides for unhindered mobility, comfort and the ballistic properties that exceed current plates. This for me would be a step forward. Hopefully when this is ellaborated on, there will be a suprise included that presents a new armor material!

I had a student last year that made a set of Storm Trooper armor out of thermo-formable kevlar sheets with ABS covers. Pretty impressive. It made much less noise than the soft goods products we were producing in nylon and hypalon.
