ZEV Technologies is proud to introduce the O.Z-9

ZEV spent 12 years perfecting upgrade parts and full gun modifications for customers in the most demanding environments in the world. The guns they have built have won over 20 national and world championships and are in the hands of special operations forces around the globe. As they mastered their craft, they dreamed about building their own pistol.

Alec Wolf, CTO / Founder of ZEV Technologies, said, “Today I am so excited to show the world the O.Z-9. After dreaming about this for 12 years it’s great to finally see this project come to fruition”

The O.Z-9 has the accuracy, control and balance of a 1911, the reliability of a striker fired pistol, and is fully modular, allowing for grip changes and compatibility with Glock and ZEV parts.

Matt Ridenour, CEO of ZEV Technologies, shared, “ZEV is committed to leadership in innovation and performance, so we invest heavily in design and engineering.   With OZ9 we’re confident that we are resetting the bar for high performance pistols.”

The O.Z-9 feels and performs better because of the improved grip angle and increased rigidity of the internal steel receiver.

  • Less felt recoil
  • Better balance
  • Faster target acquisition
  • More control

The O.Z-9 is modular. The internal steel receiver allows for an interchangeable grip, and all other parts are fully compatible with Glock and ZEV components.

  • Change out grips for different shooting conditions, sizes, colors, textures, or with blank grips to do your own grip work
  • Use your Glock magazines
  • The O.Z-9 is tested. The O.Z-9 has gone through 3 years of testing and revision with over 500,000 rounds fired. It has met or exceeded various aspects of the U.S. Army TOP (Test Operations Procedure) for small arms, SAAMI, and California Department of Justice protocols for safety, reliability, and environmental testing, and is backed by a 3-year limited warranty.

Does this mean it’s Cal DOJ approved/on the roster?

      • Alpha2 says:

^ This..was wondering the same thing. If it passed the CA DOJ protocols for drop safety etc. it should be allowed on the roster.

        • Jason el Cuerdo says:

They’re probably just referring to the drop test protocol.

Nothing’s getting added to the CA roster until if/when the micro-stamping “it’s not a backdoor gun ban! heh heh” b.s. gets resolved.

          • Alpha2 says:

True, forgot about that fiasco. Only firearms that can be newly added to the roster are firearms with prior SKU #’s from the DOJ under section 32015. So yeah ZEV OZ9 will be LE only in Cali.

    2. Dave says:

So a 2011 GLOCK. Pretty neat idea.

Serious question, if you put OEM Glock parts in it, will it stop working? That’s what happens when you put Zev parts in a Glock. Asking for a friend.

      • PTM says:

Lot’s of truth there! ZEV parts allow you to push your Glock to its failure point, whether you intend to do that, or not. 🙂

    3. Cory C. says:

How much? When is it available?

    4. 9Baller says:

This is much cooler than I anticipated. It looks like they have actually created something other than a copy of a copy. If it proves to be reliable I’m in, although the Zev track record…

    5. PTM says:

Do you think this is factually accurate?

“and are in the hands of special operations forces around the globe.”

      • That Guy says:

I was wondering about that statement as well. I’m not a cool guy but I worked with a few, saw a lot of G19s, a tricked out SIG and HK, and a 1911, no ZeVs in sight….

        • Mk2Monkey says:

At least two STSs are running with ZEV components on their 19s. The question is whether any of the dudes really need it.

          • SSD says:

They aren’t the only ones. I suppose you could worry if service members needed anything beyond a musket.

      • Kango says:

They’re talking about modded stock guns like Glocks in the hands of SOF, not the OZ9.

      • SSD says:

I know for a fact it is true.

    6. Casey Doherty says:

      Glock lawsuit in 3…2…

    7. Rick says:

Make this with an external safety in a 17, 19, 34 size and I’d buy all 3.

    8. Jeremy P says:

Overpriced glock with pointless slide holes #239487234.

    9. Marcus says:

I wish them luck with this concept. It sounds like Zev put a lot of work and thought over years to produce it. That type of dedication deserves consideration and benefits all shooters.

    10. tremis says:

I remember seeing the “Debris Collection Ports” on slides 25 years ago. Nobody could articulate an advantage then, nor can they now. We can’t even say it’s contemporary styling anymore.
