      Stand the cot up on end, with the cross bar you need to install by your feet. Stand on the uninstalled end of the cross bar, and push the top of the cot away from you. Leverage achieved.

    I have to chuckle, have a cot built Circa 80s, the pack cloth was at it’s end life, just replaced it with 1000D and webbing binding, added a side organizer with carbine sheath, mag holders, other pockets, Ground Pad and a place for a paddle holster… why not. Sleeps very well 🙂

    I always just used a one of those big wood tent stakes to pry it into place. Strap the stake down in the cot when it is folded so you always have it with the cot. The stake was also good for quieting loud snorers in adjacent bunks.

    I thought of it as a problem solving test. The one guy who went to bed with one end completely un-hooked…probably didn’t want that guy on your team.

      I must be the heretic. Being taller I always like the end by my feet undone since they’re hanging off the edge anyways.

    I got 6 of these (Reyes Indus.) my trick ? my gal (a BBW) simply seats on the opposite end ;O)
    (PS : she hasn’t ruined any yet … 250 lbs rated !!!)

    Obviously no 11 Bravos here, never slept on one of those …. the floor or ground needs no assembly. ??
