SOF Week 23 – Arc’teryx LEAF

First off, Arc’teryx LEAF wants readers to know that they are still here and there is some exciting news coming soon.

Also, this is a great chance to tell you about the latest version of the Alpha LT which features a new 40 Denier face fabric with a lightweight laminate. It’s the same weight as the previous material, but more durable.

The recent decision by Arc’Teryx LEAF to only sell to the cool kids is unfortunate. My money was good enough in the past but no longer so. Their company, their rules, but disappointing. I have speculated that it has mostly to do with demand destruction.

Arcteryx Leaf must definitely reconsider their sales policy.
Please SSD upload the 2023 product catalog for us to see.
Reconsider your sales policy, people used to love you.
    What happened to you guys?

    This!

It’s even more ridiculous when you see t-shirts with the LEAF logo only for sale to government buyers.

    • SSD says:

Don’t worry, there won’t be logo t-shirts in the future.

    • mortem says:

Don’t worry, our Standard Issues still work fine, wearing Gucci Tactical doesn’t make you more superior.

Their new sales policy is absolutely garage. That combined with the fact they are now a Chinese company, I will be purchasing all of my new outdoor and mil gear elsewhere and I will actively try to convince everyone in all of my checked to do the same. This also goes for all of their sister companies, Salomon, Suunto, etc.

And before someone says Arcteryx isn’t a Chinese company, Amer Sports (the parent company) is owned by the Chinese company ANTA Sports.

As a Canadian, a long-time end-user and a someone who used to be rather proud that this company has done as well as it has – I will no longer buy or use Arc’teryx LEAF products. Owing to their apparent indifference to my emails for general info and warranty/return info – their usual response is not to respond directly to me but to send me an automated ‘rate their service’ email – which I now follow suit and simply ignore. Anyone asking me about any of Arc’teryx’s LEAF products, I just tell ’em to save their monies and time and to shop elsewhere(like Beyond Clothing, Carinthia Pro, Outdoor Research, etc). As far as I’m concerned, the dead-bird is now truly dead and now long gone.

I talked with the LEAF reps at Shot Show and they didn’t provide much information but all they really did was enable the secondary market to charge exorbitant prices for already pricey items. One reason LEAF was started to begin with. Military dudes had Pro prices, in the day, and they were turning around and selling on eBay. We had access to all the civilian gear, then that stopped. Not sure what they have going on but I am under the assumption “they” are going woke.

    • Eric G says:

That’s not why LEAF was started. The commercial sales element of LEAF was started to allow those outside of programs of record to buy product. LEAF was started to formalize the purchases we were making as military units with purpose built product rather than taking whatever was available as COTS.

Where can we find the 2023 /2024 Leaf workbook?
Any chance of uploading the product guide?
    Thanks ?
