GovX was started by the same folks who originated USStandardIssue.com. When Oakley bought it back, they decided to move on and create something larger than just one brand for military and related personnel. What they came up with is GovX. They describe the concept pretty well themselves…
“Our Mission is to create the ultimate, privileged, e-commerce destination for active duty, reserve and retired members of the U.S. Armed Forces and related government agencies…
GovX is a privileged e-commerce Web site where qualified members of the U.S. Armed Forces and those in related government agencies can shop for premium off-duty apparel, equipment and other products as well as on–duty tactical products. Prospective Members simply submit their registration to qualify as a Member and once approved, you can begin shopping, saving and interacting on the GovX.com site.”
Unlike many other other discount buying services, they have something for everyone in the family. It’s a great service but remember, it isn’t for everyone and you have to apply to take advantage of this offer.

Just spoke with Tony the founder of Gov-X. Not only did he pick up the phone at 10:30 on a Friday, but he was very helpful in registering my account and explaining to me philosophy for the site. Without a doubt this site has some good management behind it. Definitely a site to join!
