Last week I had the opportunity to attend a fundraiser for the families of some of our nation’s finest. Also in attendance was author Brad Thor. He was signing copies of his latest thriller, “Hidden Order” so I asked him if he would be willing to sign a copy for a giveaway here on SSD. He was more than happy to oblige meaning one lucky SSD winner will receive a signed copy!
The most secretive organization in America operates without any accountability to the American people. Hiding in the shadows, pretending to be part of the United States Government, its power is beyond measure.
Control of this organization has just been lost and the future of the nation has been thrust into peril.
When the five candidates being considered to head this mysterious agency suddenly go missing, covert counter-terrorism operative, Scot Harvath is summoned to Washington and set loose on the most dangerous chase ever to play out on American soil.
But as the candidates begin turning up murdered, the chase becomes an all-too-public spectacle with every indicator suggesting that the plot has its roots in a shadowy American cabal founded in the 1700’s.
With the United States on the verge of collapse, Harvath must untangle a web of conspiracy centuries in the making and head off the greatest threat America has ever seen.

It’s hard to pick a favorite … but I’ll go with the Space Trilogy by C.S. Lewis.
Tom Clancy, usually anything with John Clark in it.
Longmire series by Craig Johnson and John Ryan series by Tom Clancy.
Longmire
It has to be the Longmire series
Dirk Pitt adventures from Clive Cussler or any of the Dalton Fury books.
Recently, it’s been Game of Thrones by George R.R. Martin.
Though for this genre, I’d say Tom Clancy (RIP!) and his Jack Ryan series (other spinoffs never did it for me) and Clive Cussler’s Dirk Pitt adventures (again, the spinoffs never did much for me).
Horus Heresy Warhammer 40k novels.
I’m a fan of the “Pre-Langdon” Dan Brown Books – Digital Fortress and Deception Point; Also a big, big fan of Clancy’s John Clark books (Debt of Honor, Executive Orders, Rainbow Six, Bear and the Dragon, etc…).
Lord of the Rings series by Tolkien.
Steve Berry’s series of books featuring Cotton Malone
The Macharian Crusade by William king- Warhammer 40K
