I still remember it like it happened minutes ago. Sitting in Modern World History as a faculty member began running from class to class telling us to turn on CNN. 0849 they burst into my class, and we frantically change the TV from the school clock to CNN. I couldn’t quite process what was happening, but I closed my book and told my classmates and my teacher we didn’t need books anymore. We were watching history unfold right in front of us.
Was just getting ready to leave gym class and noticed everyone seemed frantic, but I didn’t know why. On my way out the door, I heard the athletic director yell from his office “They got the Pentagon too?!”
I knew at that exact moment something bad had happened.
Once we got to our next class, the teacher explained what happened and I realized that this was the beginning of both a life and world-changing chapter in our history.
