Combat Flip Flops Supports Team 5’s Spring 2015 Mission Fixing Cleft Palates In Central America Expedition Overland To Capture The Scene

Later this month, three members representing Team 5 Medical Foundation will embark on the foundation’s next mission—fixing cleft palates, providing basic medical education and medicine to villagers in remote regions of Central America. Eric Linder, Founder of Team 5, Remote Medical Practitioner (RMP) and Fellow of the Academy of Wilderness Medicine (FAWM), along with Keith R., M.D., surgeon and remote medical physician, and Matthew ‘Griff’ Griffin, co-founder of Combat Flip Flops and logistics lead, will begin their journey south, accompanied for part of the mission by the Expedition Overland team.

The highly anticipated Expedition Overland (XO) YouTube series will return in season 2 for a truly epic journey through Central America—one of the most breathtaking and complex areas of the world. The team of seven and their three overland-equipped Toyotas will film throughout eight Central American countries. Once in Guatemala, the crew will meet up with Team 5 as they perform medical procedures in remote villages. The 12-episode series will begin airing in July 2015 on the Expedition Overland YouTube channel; viewers are invited to follow the adventure as it unfolds at xoverland.com beginning April 15.

Team-5 is a small group of former special forces members and hand-selected medical and survival experts who venture into the most extreme and austere locations around the world to educate local healthcare workers, provide remote medicine and donate supplies to developing areas so they can be self sufficient.
